Editor's Notes & Price Research

  • While this is an older model power bank, it still offers a large 40,000mah capacity at a low price. This power bank is a good choice for those who want more value in large capacity rather than super fast charging.

The largest power bank that is allowed on planes depends on the airline's specific regulations, as they may have different restrictions on the size and capacity of power banks. However, in general, most airlines allow power banks with a capacity of up to 100 watt-hours or 27,000mAh in carry-on luggage.
This battery supposedly has a 40,000 mAh rating. I discharged it and charge it according to package instructions. Used it last weekend for the first time. Charged two phones two times each. Each phone has a 2.5 mAh battery in both were at approximately 40% when charged. After two charges for the two phones, the battery showed 37% power left. Should have been a minimum of 75%, If the phone batteries were at zero. Takes almost 2 days to charge!
I have the 30,000mAh model from the same company and it has been great so far, Thinking about getting this 40K model as $22 is a great deal. Just bear in mind that this is pretty much good for charging phones or even an undocked Nintendo Switch as it maxes out at 18W, although it COULD power a laptop with Type C inputs albeit it would probably lose power at a slower rate or charge a laptop slowly if it was turned off.

Pretty good deal for a nice battery pack. The display can show the output current when being used. I like mine.

The IATA is an international aviation organization. It's established clear rules for flying with power banks. You can take 2 power banks with you on the plane. Together, they can have a capacity of up to 27,000mAh (100Wh). Make sure you put those power banks in your carry-on luggage. They're not allowed as checked luggage. Don't put your power banks at the bottom of your bag, but somewhere you can easily access them. At the security check, you often have to show your power bank.

This one is a little over two pounds, which I assume is close to what yours weighs. Does yours seem like a brick or is it unnoticeable in your coat pocket or bag?

I fly with these smaller battery packs often (25+ flights annually) and take them in my carry-on. No problems and never checked by TSA. I typically have 3 battery packs with me: 8,000mah, 10,000mah, and 40,000mah. The 40,000mah even has the cables built in so it probably looks "fishy" in the TSA machines but they never pull them. It is the checked bags that are not supposed to have battery packs.

I don't know, it's from 2020 and thus offers a micro usb port for input charging...and with max output at 18 watts, not worth it imo.

lol price fluctuates between $23 and $60 just so they can throw in coupons that sound amazing. Ugh I hate these sales tactics...
