I got the Winix C545 in store last month for $100. It was good, then I got this C909 and returned the C545 to get 3 more C909. The C909 moves so much air. I had the C545 in the bedroom. It took a few days to notice a difference. I set up the C909 in our 800sqft family room and within 30 mins I could feel the noticeable difference in air quality. I think the C909 is an amazing deal. It's a testament to Costco buying power in order to get Winix to sell these for $200 let alone $160 on sale. The non-Costco version is the 9800 that MSRP for $330. Other retailers sell it for $260-280. Through Costco you get these for $160 with 2 years of filters. I had an expensive older Blueair model the 600 series and those were so loud with expensive filters. It ended up in storage. The C909 is quiet and powerful. I'm glad it's on sale when I'm in the market for a few.
Whattt ? Lmao
Seeing how the numbers are better and the manufacturer obviously priced higher for a reason, seems to me you just want to justify buying cheaper ones 😂.. I've had both and they are not on the same level .

I'd call this lukewarm. It's not as good as the C545 since its smoke rating (I assume it's the smallest particle) is less than 40% higher than the lower capacity unit, but the price is almost 60% higher. If you haven't gotten it for the bad pollution days, you should get one. Otherwise, the smaller one seems easier to house.

You're saying the c545 on sale at $100 was the better deal?

I mean, if you have a huge room, this can make sense. Otherwise, the smoke rating seems rather low for the price gap.

Good observation that the CADR isn't that much better than the C545 for the cost differential. There could be some long term value in ongoing costs per CADR in this product over the C545 since the OEM replacement filters are the same price between the two models (at least at Costco). Sourcing third party filter manufacturers would affect the ongoing costs differently since they are often way cheaper.

How does this compare to the Coway AirMega 400 on sale for $350 at Amazon (this deal: https://slickdeals.net/f/17412804-coway-airmega-400-smart-air-purifier-graphite-349-or-less-free-shipping)

I get the price is extremely different, but curious if the increased price is justified based on the performance.

Maybe Coway has more aesthetic, power wise they're close but Winix is less than half the price. I just got a bunch for my house. I put the C909 in the bedrooms as well and returned the C545 I got for $100, because the C909 feels a lot better.

Interesting. The C545 already generates so much flow, I can't put it in my apartment hallway because it creates a suction force that makes it hard for me to walk through--imagine that! And mine isn't a tinny apartment for NYC.

So how can you tell the air flow on c545? I have 2 and one of then works decently in a small bedroom, the other one in the living room feels like it just doesn't clean the air that much. Even with new filters. It's not a big living room. I see the C909 product page tells how long it takes to replace the air in certain sized rooms.

I guess my question is how much more air does the c909 filter thru/ replaced vs the c545. Is there a big difference in air flow?
