Check with your insurance if they give you a discount. In the Moen valve thread someone noted that their insurance paid for theirs; I checked with mine (Hanover) an they offer $150 discount if you have auto shutoff and $75 discount if you just have sensors. By that time I'd already had them more than a year, but that $75 more than made up for what I paid for 8 sensors + hub,.

Pair these with this water shut off valve to turn the main water line off when water is detected. I did this and it works great.

https://www.amazon.com/Automatic-...B0CB3NZH19

Govee connect to the Govee Home app
The water shut off connects to the Smart Life app
To allow them to connect together you will need an account with IFTTT.com. They have an applet there that will allow the sensor to trigger the shut off valve to close upon water detection.

The Govee sensors seem to required the Govee Home app to work, I would prefer to have Home Assistant or the Smart Life app control the shut off valve but I haven't yet figured that out yet.

Should I get these new version ones or the old version ones?
At this price, the new ones definitely! The best combo is to get the Hub+6 and the 5.

Make a list of all your water sources and buy enough to put under all of them:
-all sinks
-behind toilets
- water tanks
- behind fridge
- under dishwasher
- under jacuzzi.
- It can also be put on the first shelf of the fridge when upper freezer leaks

Just wanted to say these things have saved me 3x in two years. Once when the garbage disposal failed and started leaking. Once when the washing machine started leaking. And this weekend when our 12 yr old water heater failed! Each time I knew within ~2 minutes and was able to shut off the water. I'm probably going to buy another set and double up just to make sure everything is working.

I installed these 3 months ago and they already caught a leaky toilet supply after the plastic nut cracked. Never had a leak before in my life...

Agreed. These are an absolute necessity for all condos and houses. They have informed me of 4 leaks so far and saved me from being sued by my neighbour.

So this doesn't work with Home Assistant?

anybody know if these new v2 B5043 will pair with the older v1 H5040 sensors & gateway? Couldn't find any info on their website & I already have a bunch of the older ones. Thanks.
No they are not interchangeable.

This is a really good deal. The last deal that was slightly better (but no time machine) was back in September. 7 sensors + hub for $50:

Yep. I got those then. Might get the 5 pack here too.

I have SmartThings leaks sensors as well. Really like those.

I got the V1 hub and sensors but looks like the gen2 is a lot better.
I did some more research and I'm now leaning toward the Yolink system instead. Battery life looks to be much better (5 years with two AAA batteries), water sensors have "rope" version for confined spaces (fridge, dishwasher), and they have shutoff valve available for integration. Anyone with experience with both systems can speak to their pros and cons?

Much appreciated. I just bought on Amazon for $20 more and then came across your post. Cancelled Amazon order and bought on Govee.

Solid deal. I remember not long ago the had the first version on sale for around the same price. $10 a sensor. Glad I waited. Wanted the two just didn't think I would see it go on sale anytime soon.
