I agree with you that out of the box the monitor does have a yellow tint. But then I found these settings on reddit. After changing my settings to those, I don't see the yellow tint anymore. Make sure to turn off the Vision Engine. Now I like it so much that I'm considering to buy another one for my second monitor.

"Starter" monitor? I'd call it a "budget" monitor, but starter monitor feels like a really weird phrase. It's not like a starter snowboard that one would upgrade when one gains more skills. This is a very good monitor for perhaps 95% of people.

Great starter monitor, especially at this price. I own the S2721DGF, which is a previous revision of this monitor. I've also owned the S2716DG. This is a nice IPS panel, especially now the high-refresh-rate 1440p monitors are affordable. It won't compare to my current monitor, the AW3423DWF (which is in a separate class, OLED ultrawide.)

When I started gaming on PC, I would have killed for a monitor with these specs at this price.

1440p is a great resolution for mid and high-end GPUs, especially if you want to run high quality in most games. I have a hard time telling 4K at 3 feet to 1440p at 3 feet, so this is the sweet spot for me.

Just ordered. Great deal. I'll bet any money the picture quality will be better than my outrageous Samsung Odyssey that was overhyped and overpriced and still can't get the colors right on it.

So I think this was discussed last time. The HDMI port is only 2.0, but you can do high refresh rate @ 1440P over HDMI. There is a 'supersample' option which downscales 4K signal to 1440p, which results in a sharper picture. However, you can't use that AND high refresh rate at the same time due to the bandwidth limits of 2.0

I appreciate the clarification. The fact that there seems to always be conflicting reports on various monitors is frustrating. Of course Microsoft made things difficult by requiring 2.1 to get better frame rates. Thankfully I hadn't pulled the trigger yet.

Yeah but keep in mind there's zero audio pass through so you have to use headphones connected to the console or use an HDMI breakout box to get the audio to another source.

Thanks for sharing OP. The Dell Amex offer of $40 back on $200+ is still valid for those that haven't used it yet.
Newbie question but you don't have to be over $200 before tax to get the Amex credit? Seeing if this requires a filler item since the monitor is $199.99

No. It is powered with a standard IEC cable.

FYI, it also comes with a DisplayPort>DisplayPort cable and a USB-C>DisplayPort cable.

I am enjoying this monitor, I recommend it for $200.
