I previously bought the one with brown switches. My favorite keyboard I've ever owned. I've got another keychron too, but I like this one just feels better to type on.

Red switches are linear and provide no feedback from pressing the keys until they hit bottom. Brown switches are tactile and have a "bump" feeling part way down which indicates when the key press is registered. Unlike a membrane type keyboard a mechanical keyboard will register the key stroke before the key is pressed all the way down.

I read on an earlier post that red switches are quieter? is that accurate?

Yes. With VIA you could completely remove the layers for Mac Mode and the ability to switch to those layers.

Neither is intentionally noisy like Blue switches are but the tactile feel for browns does have the potential for some unintended noise. Either type is going to be noisy when bottoming out.

Just returned this too. I actually liked it quite a lot and thought the software was cool, but I had failed to recognizer how tall this is. It didn't physically fit onto my desks without my hands feeling like they had to float in the air several inches above the desk surface. Be sure you measure what you are using right now and think about whether this makes any sense for you height-wise.

I've been using a K8 with brown switches and haven't been happier typing since my old IBM one.

Great feel, solid build, and amazing price.

Picked one to use at work a few months back and has been a great addition to my workstation.

These old style keyboards are a gimmick. They are completely unergonomic. Low profile keyboards ftw.
