Thanks to Deal Editor iconian for finding this deal.
I like these but they're significantly more expensive without free shipping. You're looking at about $150 more for the HSU.
The power differences are a moot point on paper. The klipsch drivers where built with a higher sensitivity as to not need higher power rated amps. Both of these subs produce about the same dbs at their lowest rated hz.. and I've never heard a difference between a lower thd amp to a higher one...
So what exactly is much better about the speedwoofer 12s? Maybe the built in tunning options? But I wouldn't pay $200 more for that.
In this case, the Klipsch competes with the Speedwoofer 12s. Very similar specs but the speedwoofer is $200 more....

Yes. Been around for decades. I have spent much there and got my sub there.

The Klipsch outclasses the Speedwoofer 12s. Both are great, but a bigger, louder sub for less money? Go Klipsch.

i have done side by side demos with each of those products. the RSL is a much better product. The amp in the 12S is a lot more powerful. RSL recently had the 12S on sale for $679, so very competitive price wise.
Measurements of the Klipsch show very high levels of THD at the lower end of the bass spectrum.
I do not trust the subjective impression of a random internet guy. Please link to CEA-2010 measurements if you feel this is a poor performing sub. We do have measurements of the 1600 and can compare specs with the 1400 to extrapolate, and the 1400 is a full 1 to 2 classes above the 12S.
I have an older SPL-120 version Klipsch sub, and it's really amazing. I didn't realize how much it adds to the listening experience until the amp burned out recently. Fortunately, new amps are reasonably affordable.
For anyone buying one, I strongly suggest turning it off after each use. I left mine on "auto" and it lasted about 6 years, but from what I hear, turning it off helps extend life.
For RSL's top selling 10S, you gotta wait for the next presale and deal with overloaded servers. The product is in that much demand. The repeated cycle shows the perceived value and quality.
i jumped on that 10e hypetrain, going to hook it up to my desktop speakers. should be overkill.
I have 2 PL-200 II's for my setup. They've been great, but I can't help but wonder how much better my theater would sound if I upgraded. Anyone upgraded from those to something like the ones here?
This is tempting, was originally looking at the R120swi from costco for $200, but might as well get a nice upgrade instead. Ive seen the RP1400 has gone on sale for $100 more in the past too. was also alooking at the PB1000 Pro.
Anything will be an upgrade atm, have an old sony 55w SAW sub from the late 90's.
The RP1400 is head and shoulders above the SVS PB-1000 Pro, and this one is quite a bit better too.
Of all the specs to scrutinize, this guy picks THD LMAO š¤£
Show me where Klipsch published the THD for the RPā1xxxsw line. I will be waiting.
The haters are comparing old budget klipsch subs (not great) to this renewed model that slaughters Internet direct brands at these sale prices...
Just to add to those claiming Klipsch is known to lie on their spl ratings.... yes ON THEIR SPEAKERS, not subwoofers.
I was commenting on the THD comment above. THD is a useless spec for a subwoofer. Reading obviously isn't your strong suit! Good try better luck next time!

My apologies, I was agreeing with you on the thd claims others were mentioning.
THD......for a sub.....kinda pointless comparison spec on a sub.

THD is not an issue when it is low, but can be as it gets to very high levels.
independent testing of the 1600 model, top model in the range (No professional measurements on this specific 1200 model to find). results showing very high levels are attached.
the independent review also noted that port noise (chuff) was audible at 20Hz and below.
