Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I returned one of these. They are incredibly small. Like half the interior space you would expect from a carryon. You can fit more in many underseat bags. Do not recommend.

Doesn't seem like that great of a deal when compared to just purchasing a set. Or do sets usually skimp on the quality hence the lower price tag?

I own this and I think your over exaggerating. I agree it's a little smaller in that it's dimensions are exactly carry on size where most seem to go over especially in height with wheels and handle included. They give the exact interior and external dimensions and capacity. Unless you're saying Samsonite outright lies in their measurements? I actually got it for the fact that if some reason they actually measure it and get picky I won't need to check it. Never seem one luggage deal without some complaint but come on half sized. Nobody who finds something negative to say EVER says what perfect luggage is out there for the price that is better.

per Samsonite
PACKING DIMENSIONS: 19"H x 14"W x 9"D (This is the interior dimension , it should be measured from lid to lid of the shell on the inside), OVERALL DIMENSIONS: 22" H x 14" W x 9"D (Over all size which includes wheels and handles), Weight: 7.5 lbs.

I own this. It's built very well and can take a beating. I like the size as I don't have to worry at all about having to check it.

This is made of polycarbonate, the good strong durable kind of hard plastic. Most hard luggage I've seen is made of ABS, which is the kind that becomes brittle and then cracks easily. I'm not sure if this is a good value compared to polycarbonate sets, but this is the kind of material you want if you're looking for durable hard sided luggage.

I know what it SAYS the dimensions are. But they are not correct. I would not have returned it if it wasn't significantly smaller inside than my other carryons.

I bought mine with a set and the larger suitcase was also not the advertised dimensions. But in the other direction. It was larger than advertised.

Just look at Amazon reviews for the Omni 2 and search for the word small or smaller. Lots of hits.

yeah my wife rejected it for the same reason. 40% of one half is taken by the handlebar steel rod inside. Although it is expandable after which it has almost the volume of an average carry on

Many carry-ons are 21" with outer diameters measuring 23"-24", which is acceptable for most US carriers. However, when traveling to Europe or Asia, airlines there are often stricter regarding carry-on size, risking refusal to board with larger cases. Your travel destination/preference should also be taken into consideration.

I purchased one of these on Amazon for $40 in used, like new condition. Great price, but the bag is way too small and I had to return it. It probably holds half the contents of most bags in this category. It might work for a one night trip, but that's about it.

Thanks for educating me. I have been in the market for a luggage set but I'm not in a rush so I wasn't sure what I was looking for. I'm coming from soft sided which has held up surprisingly well in the checked process but I have been lucky enough to only travel to places where it doesn't rain.

So we want durable polycarbonate…but we're carrying it on, so it doesn't have to take a beating…

The luggage world is a little strange. Smilie

I wish the airline world would shrink carryon limits and go back to free checked bags. Life was so much easier way, way back in 2011. Endless overhead storage and happier passengers.

Sometimes the airline will require that you gate check your carryon bag, either because all overhead space is taken or the airplane is tiny and has small overhead bins.

Also, the bags can typically be expanded, so for longer trips, you might want to use the expansion feature and check the bag.

I gate check for free whenever possible.
