Mine at 100% charge gets 175 miles of range (don't turn on the climate because that knocks it down to 160 miles), dealer says they are working on a fix. But won't look at the car.

You may want to look at the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Rated for 360 mile range on a 100% charge, and Hyundai's been doing $7,500 cashback to offset the ineligibility for federal credits. And if you're really lucky, your state won't charge sales tax—NJ didn't for mine.

Why would you charge your car when rates are high? SCE rates are time of use. Highest rates are 4pm-9pm. Charge overnight or during the day.
Those are standard non TOU rates.

Have you gotten the most recent update? A way to tell is if your HUD has a battery percentage readout.

Let's say the battery is 100kwh, to fully charge it in 20 minutes requires a 300kw charger at 100 efficiency. How many 300kw chargers can the grid support? That's the bigger challenge.

it's really not- since most EV charging isn't done at DC fast chargers.

It's nearly all done at your home or workplace on an L2 charger that any standard 240v plug can support. And typically done overnight while you sleep, and while load on the grid is lowest anyway.

DC fast chargers are primarily only useful a few times a year for road trips.

As to those- over 99% of the US population already lives within 50-100 miles of one today and thousands more are added annually with no grid issues.

Cool story bro. You are as annoying as EVangelicals.
You know. I love ICE and do find EV cool though personally too much for my taste example. However the guy you find annoying rightfully so for being anti EV and perhaps apathetic on life and such, I'm no way gonna be like him to tell folks here and outside about EV being set for disaster or persuade them to remain with ICE unless they ask me for my POV on the future of automobile (psss nobody has and idc, nobody cares too).

I'm no car guy but come on man, automobile advancement has been the norms for the past hundred of years. EV is a different kind of animal. Don't have to have anything to do with it lol.

In short, your opinion was objectively valid and that guy oughta go take a hike or pound sands. Life is short to fuss about EV lol

Unless you have battery backup or a solar inverter, when the grid goes down, so do you.

Could you imagine if EV owners bashed ICE vehicle owners the way they bash EV owners? I'm a car enthusiast, I have a Porsche and a Corvette Z06, I also have a Tesla model S, and anytime I brag about the Tesla, people judge and paint me in a light of tree hugging environmentalist and (insert whatever political party).

What's the big deal about someone who likes alternative energy? Why do people care about EV's so much when they have ZERO effect on them? Most people have not even tried them before criticizing them and banishing them the deepest depths of hello.

My GT500 would only get about 170 miles of range on a full tank. I never, in over 20k miles, drove it from full to empty on any day.

I best most people cant recall a day they pulled out of their garage with a full tank and had to fill it up before returning.

EV drivers are car people too. Try one before being so critical.
We politicians that do that for EV buyers. Maybe that's why all the vitriol. What was that Stabenow I believe said might have misspelled her name but laughed at the high gas prices and touted her EV. Then you have CA wanting to close all refineries and ban combustible engine cars didn't they recently do that with big rigs in the coming years? So just a little context in the "war"

Recently leased an ioniq 5 for $6k one-pay, 24/12. Did my first DCFC from 11%-80% and it took 20 minutes. Pretty impressive.
$250/mo all in for 12k miles a yr for 2 years? Where do I find this deal?

Not exactly, apartment dwellers will be fully reliant on charging stations.
