Mine at 100% charge gets 175 miles of range (don't turn on the climate because that knocks it down to 160 miles), dealer says they are working on a fix. But won't look at the car.

You may want to look at the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Rated for 360 mile range on a 100% charge, and Hyundai's been doing $7,500 cashback to offset the ineligibility for federal credits. And if you're really lucky, your state won't charge sales tax—NJ didn't for mine.

With you on the EV- disagree with the solar panels. for the same reasons I disagree on a EV . EV are something you use an hour or two a day. A house you use for significantly more. Solar takes up a lot of space; but space on your roof is basically unused. Even if you don't store or grid tie, you can use that electricity to heat/cool/make hot water, so that your house is at your optimal comfort when you get home.
I know a family that went solar, totally, selling excess back, etc. they also charge their cars with their solar. It's like having your own oil well. So, during the blackouts a few years ago, they went merrily on while people were suffering in the heat, panicking, filling their tanks, plain going crazy as people do when their conveniences are at risk. Made me think differently.

How much does it cost to install a charging unit in your house?
Install costs will vary for these reasons:
*electrician labor rates
*location of electrical panel (assuming your panel has slots for a the charger)
*location of charger to be installed (closer will be cheaper due to less time/labor and less materials)
*charger connection: Level2 plug vs direct wire for the wall charger

Some manufactures (ie GM) include a home charger outlet install w/ an EV purchase (possibly lease too); customer supplies own EV charger ($300-$700).

IF your electrical pannel is CLOSE to the final EV wall charger desired location, figure close to $1k. Again, rates vary depending on where you live.

keep waiting for tech that isnt coming
cars like the Ioniq 6 can already do 10% to 80% in 20 minutes
Lol, if you can find a charger capable of that speed. That works. And weather permitting. EVs are cool but holy crap they are comprised.

Until they make an EV which fully recharges in 15-20 mins (this is the time taken to refill gas, use the restroom and grab something to munch on while I'm on long trips) I'll be avoiding these for now. As it stands, Toyota's hydrogen engines look more promising.
The Ioniq 5 charges 20-80% in 17min

I just rented this from Avis. Had the same tech as the Rav 4. Piano black everywhere and useless center console. Lane keep is aggressive but adaptive cruise is smart. Very zippy and grippy

How much is the out the door monthly though? It says it does not include "fees".
So many factors go into the OTD price. Do some research, don't be lazy

Enter the Toyota fanboy who knows nothing about the scarcity of hydrogen fuel stations or cost of the fuel.

228 mi, real world 180 prob, hard pass on this. Should be a hard pass for everyone else as well given the competition in the EV space.

LMFAO Toyota has been talking about Hydrogen for 15+ years, saying they're close. It will never come to fruition in a consumer vehicle because it doesn't make sense. In a semi for trucking purposes, maybe, but not for a consumer vehicle.

Went and looked at this at the Subaru dealership. Personally wouldn't buy or lease because of the interior. However I do want to get an EV eventually, my local Subaru dealership did say they have a service where they will trade you a gas vehicle anytime you want to take a road trip out of town.

The writing is on the wall, and once it starts it will be a race to the bottom, with the stubborn dealers losing out most. Followed by an influx of affordable cars that the dealers (and manufacturers) have turned their noses up at for the last few years.

If this came out 7 years ago, might have been good competition with the bolt, but with all the other unique and much better performing evs in the same price bracket, this this is going to need to be 25k or less for it to sell
Bolt is way better.

Yeah, unfortunately for me, the closest hydrogen station is 14 miles away and on the opposite direction of where I work. I still want to see some crash data of the hydrogen tank on the car.
Something hit the hydrogen tank the driver most likely dead and it is the same for gas car.

I don't think he's being lazy. Like you said "so many factors". For someone who is new to car buying or car leasing, it can be a bit nebulous understand the factors and fees.
