Mine at 100% charge gets 175 miles of range (don't turn on the climate because that knocks it down to 160 miles), dealer says they are working on a fix. But won't look at the car.

You may want to look at the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Rated for 360 mile range on a 100% charge, and Hyundai's been doing $7,500 cashback to offset the ineligibility for federal credits. And if you're really lucky, your state won't charge sales tax—NJ didn't for mine.

Subaru website showing 329 a month. Anyone know where there is more information on this deal? Last thing I need is another POS Subaru (HATE our 22 Outback Touring), but 241 is chump change.

Out of curiosity, what could you buy the car outright for? After lease payments, the fine print says you can buy it lease end for about $26k, making the total price $35k. I wonder if dealers would sell it straight up for less than that.

I can only hope for this. Hoping my current daily driver at 245K miles holds out for another year at 30K miles per year.
I'm in the same boat.. 230k miles with 30k a year (and that's just my 2x day a week commuter…. )

Could you imagine if EV owners bashed ICE vehicle owners the way they bash EV owners? I'm a car enthusiast, I have a Porsche and a Corvette Z06, I also have a Tesla model S, and anytime I brag about the Tesla, people judge and paint me in a light of tree hugging environmentalist and (insert whatever political party).

What's the big deal about someone who likes alternative energy? Why do people care about EV's so much when they have ZERO effect on them? Most people have not even tried them before criticizing them and banishing them the deepest depths of hello.

My GT500 would only get about 170 miles of range on a full tank. I never, in over 20k miles, drove it from full to empty on any day.

I best most people cant recall a day they pulled out of their garage with a full tank and had to fill it up before returning.

EV drivers are car people too. Try one before being so critical.
As they say, EVs are NOT designed to save the environment. EVs are intended to save the automobile industry. They keep individual vehicles filling the roads rather than other more sustainable options which might actually make a real difference.

The lease makes the car eligible for the 7,500 tax incentive which I think is factored into the pricing. Buying the car outright doesn't make the incentive eligible to so the cost would be $7,500 more to start with….

That depends if you're eligible for the federal rebate. If you aren't then leasing is the only way to get the discount up front.

It's just ignorance and resistance to change. If I charge when I sleep eat or pee I never have to think about it. Works well for me. Never buying ICE again.

That's my stance. I can't wait up to an hour to charge a car, and don't feel comfortable going up to 80% w/the mentality that I can finish it out "later"

Nah, I wanna be able to get that car charged up and ready to hit the highway again, as anyone w/kids knows how each minute is PRECIOUS and waiting around at a random ass establishment or a walmart parking lot just ain't what it do.
It's not as bad as you think. Rent a Tesla from Hertz for a few days and try it out some time.
I'm not singling you out, but in general, people sure do fuss about EVs and long distance road trips even though 99.5% of the time you're just commuting to work. EVs are amazing for the daily grind and most do great on road trips, but if it really bothers people that much, just rent an ICE for the occasional road trip. Don't stress, bros and bras….

I thought u leased it.
many people are signing up for the lease offer and then just buying it out. It maths to a much better deal. I personally am planning on leasing one and doing that long 2-3 year trial and see what my thoughts are after. Battery life is going up steadily. I have a 2019 Ioniq (Hybrid) and the level of tech that's gone up in 5 years is pretty cool. Hyundai has been really good for me and the EV lease offers make it really hard to even think about anything else. I think offers are likely to get better soon. Tesla is tanking and they'll be dumping cars to get the volume back up. Hyundai is positioning themselves to really go after Tesla on the lower end and its not even close. the N line is gonna be interesting to watch for the higher end.

It has to the 2023 model, the 2024s are that price. There are no 2023 models left at dealerships 200 miles around me.

I was about to say the same thing but with stronger language (SHOULD look at the Ioniq 6). Hyundai is putting out good cars and the Ioniqs seem to be a strong option for folks looking for a non-Tesla first EV.

What kind of shit tires last only 12,000 miles? That seems more like a tire issue than a vehicle issue unless you're drag racing on the regular.
Well, when you have a powerful vehicle, with soft performance tires, they do not last as long. Soft compound tires like the OEM tires, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, wear faster as the soft rubber makes for better handling and traction. Also factor in the weight of the vehicle, the power, and the camber, then yes, they last about 12k miles.

I could put garbage, all season, super hard, poor performing tires and get over 40k miles, that defeats the purpose of having a nice handling, higher power, performance vehicle.

Google the tires.
Google the vehicle.
Google tread life on such vehicle.
Re-evaluate your statement.

Yeah but are you regularly making 200-mile trips? The people who make these arguments about not needing more gasoline for 500+ miles fail to realize that EVs charge at home overnight so the 40 miles you may drive in one day is not going to leave you stranded by any means. There are pros and cons to both options.
....THis is considering that such person has a charging option available to them. Homeowner w/a basic electric outlet can let it trickle their way to recoup. Apartment dweller may be up a creek if their apartment doesn't offer such luxury or worse, does not have available stations.

ICE driver just has to find a gas station if they're truly worried, as I don't know if that is something most people top off daily with

Don't turn on climate,. Drive around in a Subaru, and walk into a room smelling of BO. Makes it so appealing.
