Mine at 100% charge gets 175 miles of range (don't turn on the climate because that knocks it down to 160 miles), dealer says they are working on a fix. But won't look at the car.

You may want to look at the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Rated for 360 mile range on a 100% charge, and Hyundai's been doing $7,500 cashback to offset the ineligibility for federal credits. And if you're really lucky, your state won't charge sales tax—NJ didn't for mine.

Is there something not letting it charge past 80%? That mile range is supposed to be the 80% charge range according to what I read.

Your perspective is a little antiquated here. Leasing provides 2 or 3 years of a car's most reliable period, full bumper to bumper warranty coverage, and in a world where EVs change every year, it allows you to dump the old one for something modern.

The idea that you "get nothing back" isn't totally true — in the case of the Subaru, you're renting a car for $8/day for years. There is value in that.

If you're in CO, I'd lease IONIQ 5. With all the rebates, I got mine for $192/months.

There are some exceptions. The ioniq lease deal of $79 per month with a $14k buy out was a heck of a deal….

That's how it was for me with Hyundai. It was actually cheaper per month to own than it was to lease for 3 years. I suppose if I had done a 1 year lease. It would have been more competitive.

It is ridiculous why people think electric cars are for road trips. They are not. The only use case for them is:

- have a charger in garage
- commute to work

Many people are missing by the term "fast charging". There's isn't such thing. There's is slow charging and VERY slow charging. As such, if you can't charge overnight in your own garage, it's not gonna be fun. If you wanna charge it on long trips, it will not be fun. Use it for daily commute, and that's it

The things that are never considered by people like this:

-first generation technology is always flawed. Full stop. Buying into any major revision is always met with flaws.

-the arguments against solar panels always seem to revolve around the how leasing and predatory sales tactics have almost completely sucked the life out of that industry. None of that reflects the functionality. Also since they've been around they've improved.

People like this don't want to hear any of that though. Anyone remember that "colossal failure" of an iPhone? You couldn't even take a video or install apps.. I guess we will just have to wonder what it could have been /s

There haven't been great lease deals since COVID but there have been several now.

We the recent EV depreciation fiasco, Leasing is a hell of a deal right now.

Or you could have bought a Fisker for $62k and been worth 25k in 2 years.
