Mine at 100% charge gets 175 miles of range (don't turn on the climate because that knocks it down to 160 miles), dealer says they are working on a fix. But won't look at the car.

You may want to look at the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Rated for 360 mile range on a 100% charge, and Hyundai's been doing $7,500 cashback to offset the ineligibility for federal credits. And if you're really lucky, your state won't charge sales tax—NJ didn't for mine.

It is ridiculous why people think electric cars are for road trips. They are not. The only use case for them is:

- have a charger in garage
- commute to work

Many people are missing by the term "fast charging". There's isn't such thing. There's is slow charging and VERY slow charging. As such, if you can't charge overnight in your own garage, it's not gonna be fun. If you wanna charge it on long trips, it will not be fun. Use it for daily commute, and that's it
This just isn't true if you have a Tesla.

Charging usually doesn't add any time to our trips, because it takes less than 30 minutes for a full charge, and we align this to meal stops.

Add in the fact that it does all the driving by itself so we can relax, it's definitely net positive.

Now if you don't have a Tesla, I wholly agree.

The time you took to reply would have been better used to determine that Toyota collaborates with this vehicle and makes this in their factory. Keep smoking weed DA.

It seems like this car doesn't really compete with most modern gen EVs very well, but at $241/month, it seems like a steal if it's your commuter car, second car in a household, etc., and your not relying on it for roadtrips.
Where does it say $241 per month? I am getting $329 per month.

Nice lease payment, although range issues are obviously on the radar.

We are currently seeing the tip of the iceberg on upcoming massive price drops across the board, both for EVs and internal combustion cars and trucks. Demand for all has dropped to historic lows because of greedy pricing by manufacturers/dealers combined with high interest rates, tightened lending standards, and upside down trade-ins. Lots are overflowing nationwide, with even some new 2022 models still unsold. When the tipping point is reached in the next 6 months or so, 5 figure discounts off sticker will become the norm as dealers scramble to offload inventory in a buyer's market. Many dealers are facing bankruptcy as we speak unless drastic measures are taken to move cars that are costing them huge amounts in floorplan interest costs. It's time for them to pay the piper for the easy money they made during the pandemic.

Oh and I forgot to mention the underhanded, dishonest tactics and ridiculous add-ons from dealers. All of this combined has made the average car buyer detest the current "dealership experience". I'd love to go buy a new truck, but currently there is no way I'd set foot on a dealership lot with all of the above in mind. They can keep their $80,000 trucks; I'm not interested.
The used market is going to get shaken up as well. People who took out some of these big loans are going to start missing their monthly payments and the repos on recent years are going to hit hard. Good alternatives for those not interested in those $80000 computerized trucks.

There was no green deal passed, what passed into law was the IRA, that wasnt shoved down anyones throats, it only incentivized certain green products because nobody is paying for the envirinmental damage fossil fuels have done. Anyone can still buy gas cars. If you're whining about anything shoved down throats, whine about the taxpayer subsidies that have existed for decades for the fossil fuel industry, including funding the misinformation echo chambers you've been swimming in.
🤣 ok buddy

Until they make an EV which fully recharges in 15-20 mins (this is the time taken to refill gas, use the restroom and grab something to munch on while I'm on long trips) I'll be avoiding these for now. As it stands, Toyota's hydrogen engines look more promising.
I have a Model 3 SR and it charges 15-100% in about 40 mins. If you only charge to 80%, it's significantly faster since the charge rate tapers off. But if you have a L2 charger at home, you'd just plug in overnight and probably never use public chargers unless you're roadtripping.

That said, without Tesla superchargers, public charging is kinda bad. Chargepoint and others get about 10% an hour. Also the range on this Subaru is low, and it'll be even lower while running AC or if the temps get sub-freezing. Even I wouldn't consider this unless you have home charging.

Edit: Forgot to mention SR is the slowest charing model. LR and performance models charge at 250 vs 170.

I hope so, and it makes sense. The crazy market adjustment pricing was BS. I hope we see - $5000-10000+ market adjustment pricing holding on to old inventory. I remember people not buying cars unless it was at least $3000 off MSRP, but people were paying 5000-10000 over MSRP for high demand models in the recent years.
