Mine at 100% charge gets 175 miles of range (don't turn on the climate because that knocks it down to 160 miles), dealer says they are working on a fix. But won't look at the car.

You may want to look at the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Rated for 360 mile range on a 100% charge, and Hyundai's been doing $7,500 cashback to offset the ineligibility for federal credits. And if you're really lucky, your state won't charge sales tax—NJ didn't for mine.

Too bad insurance on this would be another $200

Until they make an EV which fully recharges in 15-20 mins (this is the time taken to refill gas, use the restroom and grab something to munch on while I'm on long trips) I'll be avoiding these for now. As it stands, Toyota's hydrogen engines look more promising.
Except there are a half dozen or so hydrogen stations left. Cost of hydrogen fuel went through the roof. Even giving away free fuel they can't move them.

This deal isnt real. Electrek posted an article about it, provided no proof, no source, and no dealership I called was aware of this. Even the dealership locator link in this post goes to their specials showing $329 not $241.

It seems very dependent on credit based on IL dealer that I just inquired with.
And someone stating offer somehow honored on '24 even?!

Turning to ionic 6 deal, if anyone can provide details on that deal

I would think that the batteries would get regular inspections. The charging system itself could monitor the health of the battery and notify whatever company if any batteries are going bad which would then signal for a technician to either repair the battery or replace it.

Of course this would require regulation that all vehicles are designed around one battery style and they are easily accessible in order to replace them on a regular basis.
Interesting. So what I know about lithium ion batteries is they are very hard to test. Do you remember any old days you could walk into your cell phone provider, pop your battery out of your phone and give it to them to test? It took less than 5 minutes to know if your battery is any good that's because we didn't use lithium ion. I looked for a battery tester for my company's lithium ion batteries and basically the tester charge the battery up put a load on it until the battery died. And you could set it up to test more and one time for more accurate results but each round took a lot of time, like hours of time. We also had smart batteries that would count the number of times they were recharged and they would auto fail at a number of charges specified by the mobile computer that the batteries went in. This didn't work for us because our use case for the batteries did not require them to last all day just an hour or two a week. Not to mention the batteries that set on the charger for a week did more poorly than the batteries that sat inside a locked drawer.

Seems like I read somewhere that it was 35 cents a KWH or so there, which is crazy. I pay 12-15 cents a KWH. And honestly, I haven't seriously considered an EV purchase, so I've never researched electricity costs per mile. I'd love it if a current EV owner could comment on operating costs.
I own a 2023 Solterra. Got it for a deep discount in December with almost no miles on it. According to Duke Energy, last month I spent $37 charging it. I drive it approximately 65 miles round trip to work and back 4 days a week, and take it to the store or around town a few times a week. My other car is a 2016 Mazda CX-5 and I spent about that much in gas in a week. I'm in North Carolina.

If you can afford the extra money, the 7500 off a Tesla Y is really the way to go.... This thing is a nightmare. . .

Could you imagine if EV owners bashed ICE vehicle owners the way they bash EV owners? I'm a car enthusiast, I have a Porsche and a Corvette Z06, I also have a Tesla model S, and anytime I brag about the Tesla, people judge and paint me in a light of tree hugging environmentalist and (insert whatever political party).

What's the big deal about someone who likes alternative energy? Why do people care about EV's so much when they have ZERO effect on them? Most people have not even tried them before criticizing them and banishing them the deepest depths of hello.

My GT500 would only get about 170 miles of range on a full tank. I never, in over 20k miles, drove it from full to empty on any day.

I best most people cant recall a day they pulled out of their garage with a full tank and had to fill it up before returning.

EV drivers are car people too. Try one before being so critical.
EV bad because someone on Facebook or the news told me so, duh.

What happened to the unifying theme of people looking for a good deal on this forum? The e-golf frenzy of 5 years ago didn't have this much conflict?!?

https://slickdeals.net/e/13163326-21-000-off-msrp-2019-volkswagen-egolf-w-driver-s-assistance-package-125-mile-epa-range-final-price-10-000-13-500

I've been a gear head my entire life and that EV deal brought the best daily driver ever into mine and 12 other family & friends' garages. (All of us own ICE tow and race vehicles: each have their purpose…)
I think it is evidence of brainwashing / indoctrination based on news sources. It happens on a lot of slickdeals (Cletus jumps on to a thread for widget deals because he doesn't need a widget but does need to call anyone who needs a widget they're stupid) but especially on anything EV.

If I had a teenaged driver commuting to school and back and maybe a part time job and back, this $240 lease would be amazing. No need for gas money, no need to worry about my daughter being harassed at the gas station by the bums that are always there, etc for $240 a month? Come on. That's a slick deal.

I drive a big RAM with a hemi to pull my utility trailer. It does great. Unfortunately it is a pain to pay for getting around town with the family. I got my wife a Model Y Long Range for school drop off and grocery runs. She's never drove more than 200 miles in a day but if she needed to go more than 250, she knows how to use a public fast charger. It works. People are adopting them all the time and they get better and better.

If it suits your needs and is a good price, it's a slick deal!

Dealerships didn't even get to the credit part, but I sit around 840 out of 850 anyway.. its not credit related
