Mine at 100% charge gets 175 miles of range (don't turn on the climate because that knocks it down to 160 miles), dealer says they are working on a fix. But won't look at the car.

You may want to look at the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Rated for 360 mile range on a 100% charge, and Hyundai's been doing $7,500 cashback to offset the ineligibility for federal credits. And if you're really lucky, your state won't charge sales tax—NJ didn't for mine.

Fastest thing there, more custom parts than most, rarer than most. I mean, if you prefer 1 of the 20 Corvettes or mustangs, help yourself.

2.5 dollars was the lowest, goes up to 3.5~ from the last time I got quotes two months ago.
2.5 is a good cost. You will get a federal rebate of 30% on that amount. So net cost should be about $1.75 to $1.8.

I do not know your circumstances like the monthly electricity bill, cost per kwh your utility charges, your roof orientation, tree cover, ability to charge EV in the garage, etc but just based on the cost of PV solar system the cost that you would pay is good. You are definitely not over paying if you go with that system.

However, $3.5 is too high so that could be the first cost that every company will quote higher and it's subject to negotiation.

BTW, I am not making any profit of you installing a PV or buying an EV. I just gave my first hand perspective and the savings that I made in just 1 year.

I've heard similar statements about a year ago. The pandemic ended, and prices will be just above the floor for cars. Unfortunately, haven't seen it materialized yet, but keep waiting to replace my old SUV. Hope prices drop before the car breaks
Some have taken to a lease like this as a safe haven against high purchase prices, so that they can sit out the craziness for a few years. Additionally, used car prices have started to ease and are on a downward trend. I'm afraid that the only thing keeping new prices high anymore is hope on the part of the dealers who don't want to take the losses, but it only gets worse for them with each passing day.

Stellantis was the first to blink a few days ago, admitting defeat by reducing sticker prices as much as 10%. The other domestic manufacturers have no choice but to follow. Things are improving slowly, but I think the pace will get much faster as time passes. Smart buyers are waiting, and frankly some have no choice but to wait because they can't afford near what they could 5 years ago.

Test drove the 2024 Solterra last night. Subaru has advertised a $0 down $329/month deal on those. Local dealer still wanted $1k down and with all their unintelligible fees (money factor, acquisition costs, doc fee, taxes, licensing, etc.) the monthly payment ballooned up to $582. I'm in Washington state fwiw... That's gonna be a no from me dog.

Isn't that deal only for 2023 Premium models?

lol, it's all about printing money. When the government inject trillions and trillions of new money into the supply over and over again the end result is inflation. The DOW has zero to do with the root cause of inflation. It's not complicated.

I take it you've never been. But okay. You're cool.
If you think the guy with a Tesla is seeking attention yet the guy with a wrapped, straight piped, huge camber, massive spoiler, and fart can isn't, you're... special

2009 thoroughly disproves that inflation is "all about printing money."

Seems like I read somewhere that it was 35 cents a KWH or so there, which is crazy. I pay 12-15 cents a KWH. And honestly, I haven't seriously considered an EV purchase, so I've never researched electricity costs per mile. I'd love it if a current EV owner could comment on operating costs.
That's about right for NYC, ConEd rates are extremely high, they have KW supply charge used AND then there's KW delivery charge!!!!

Think of leasing versus purchasing as different flow of money stream. One's not inherently better than the other, it all depends on what incentives are available. Sometimes there are leasing incentives and sometimes there are financing incentives, or both. You still have to negotiate with the dealership for the best price. For example, I want to buy/lease a $50K vehicle, as in this deal available for Solterra. Let's say the terms of the lease are $329/month for 36 months and at the end, you have the option to buy for $30K. What do you have to put down on financing to get to the same $329/mo on a purchase? If it's more than the 3-year future value of $30K, leasing is the better option. If it's less, than financing would make better sense. Obviously I didn't get into taxes, fees, insurance and such, but you get the idea.
Never really looked at it that way. Makes sense. Obviously this would only apply for new vehicles. Are they really picky about condition and normal wear/tear if you decide to return the vehicle?

ionic 5 looks so much cooler to me , the only EV that ive ever been tempted to buy.. ! but yet to buy a New vehicle and i think im gonna try a Hybrid first and wait bit longer for EV's to become more mainstream with charging stations everywhere and improved range..!
anyone bought a ionic5 here who could elaborate a bit their experience with it ?
