Mine at 100% charge gets 175 miles of range (don't turn on the climate because that knocks it down to 160 miles), dealer says they are working on a fix. But won't look at the car.

You may want to look at the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Rated for 360 mile range on a 100% charge, and Hyundai's been doing $7,500 cashback to offset the ineligibility for federal credits. And if you're really lucky, your state won't charge sales tax—NJ didn't for mine.

Too bad insurance on this would be another $200

I saw 2 passenger cars on fire on the side of the road in the past 30 days—one in NYC and one in Europe (I had never witnessed such a thing in my life).
Neither was an EV.

Statistically gasoline cars catch on fire vastly more often than EVs do (even adjusting for # on the road)--but it doesn't get a lot of clicks or ratings to do a story about "RANDOM HONDA CIVIC CATCHES ON FIRE!"

Replace civic with any EV, even if it happens far less often, and you've got a winning headline.

FYI for Hybrid fans- those catch fire -far- more often than either pure battery cars or pure gas cars... yet another way they're worst of both worlds.

The $241 price in this title is some delicious troll bait. I can't find it anywhere.

However, reading these threads has inspired me to lease an EV for 2-3 years while the price and adoption wars play out. I was thinking of buying and financing, not so much now.

With that said, is the only comparable deal to this (<$300 no money down) the Ionic 6? If there are others, please recommend.

If you can wait till end of the year Hyundai should start producing ionic 5 and 6 at Georgia plant, those should qualify for tax credit without dealing with lease

I can't find it locally, I only see $329 like many others. Thread is too large to try and hunt, so I look at the pinned comments, nothing there. Surely someone has found it? The last time I bought a car I booked a 1 way flight to DC and drove 14hr home. I don't mind traveling. I am more concerned about the deal and how to get it. Can anyone name all the locations?

Edit, never mind. Not interested. I changed my zip to 90210 for giggles, found the deal there. too far

Recently leased an ioniq 5 for $6k one-pay, 24/12. Did my first DCFC from 11%-80% and it took 20 minutes. Pretty impressive.
Would you be able to share Where did you get this deal on Ionic 5?

As a 2015 outback owner and probably autistic over-researcher prior to buying, Subaru EVs ain't it.

Do Subaru drivers other than the STI, go to a seminar on how to drive like an overly careful accident waiting to happen?

There is no fix...

Climate control uses electrical system so it uses the battery.

The more you use climate control the more battery range you lose.
Dealer tells you they are working on a "fix" because they don't want you to return the car.

You said exactly what I've been thinking about cash buyers. When the money supply is tight because of high interest rates, cash is king more so than ever. Cracks have already formed in automotive price stability. I think we all knew deep down that there's no way these crazy prices could sustain. There's a perfect storm of financial pressures happening to the consumer, with literally everything costing more. Most households are worse off financially than they were a few years ago after the double gut punches of inflation and high interest rates. A quiet recession is already underway with discretionary spending on things like restaurants and leisure travel. The pool of car buyers has shrunk to a puddle.
Dealers couldn't care less about cash buyers, in fact, never mention you will pay by cash when negotiating since they make more on financing side.

You can buy out the lease early and get the $7500 rebate now (minus the lease setup/end fees, typically $600-1000). We did that on my wife's Genesis.

CA resident here. My off peak cost is 48.84¢/kWh and my peak cost is 51.68¢/kWh.

Two years ago it was 37.37¢/kWh & 39.01¢/kWh respectively.
Ten years ago the EV rate was 14 cents, now it's 42. Oh PG&E, the most must trustworthy, people first company in all California.

That's bullshit, the salesman wants to sell a car, they don't care where the money comes from, unless you're at a skeevy used car shop, at that point the joke's on you.

People cant comprehend the idea. They fixate on the what if situation and get wrapped up in it.

I have gas cars as well as electric. If I want to go on a long road trip, I would rent a car to avoid depreciation/wear of my gas car and put the thousands of miles on it.

Why would I drive my wife's X5M on a road trip when I can rent a Sienna for 50 bucks a day and put the 2k miles on it. Same situation as my Tesla, I've driven from Missouri to Chicago, took one stop each way for about 45 mins. My hotel in Chicago had a charger and I left with a full battery.
Dunno where you can rent a sienna for 50 bucks a day, certainly no where I've seen in a metro city on the east coast.
