it's that the ethernet connection from the monitor will pass through usb-c to the laptop, so it gives the laptop a hard wired internet connection when plugged into the monitor

I blew it. I saw the offer and went downstairs to get a different credit card. Monitor changed back to 549. I wonder if it was an error price. ! This was a slick deal!
