For laptops You need m.2 nvme SSDs.
The difference is m.2 drives look like small sticks of gum, this is a full sized add-in card.
Pcie protocol exist on both desktop and laptops (so it's commonly confused), but the socket sizes are different. As a side note most modern desktop motherboards typically have multiple full size pcie e sockets and a few m.2 sockets, so you can add many SSD drives and pcie add in cards (that can do whatever you want)
I should also note, you can't open this up and pull out an m.2 socket drive from the case. This is full size pcie socket format only and it's part of the pcie board itself.

I guess if you buy a few of them they can look cool RGB-ing out your PCIE slots?
