I haven't used either personally. But my understanding is Hart is supposedly a higher quality brand than Hyper Tough. For whatever that's worth. Also the hyper tough is 1/4" while this is 3/8". This one also has a case. For that alone I'd pay a few bucks extra.

Oh just realized the hyper tough has smaller sockets. Goes down to 4mm, while the hart starts at 10mm and goes up from there. This is because the hyper tough is 1/4 drive. Both seem to skip size, which is normal at this price.

Honestly if you have a harbor freight nearby go look at their offerings.

The case looks useless once opened the first time. I see these spilling everywhere on the side of the road and me cursing myself for buying crap tools.

I usually buy these types of sets as one or a few times use sets, until they spill out on the side of the road or I lose a few of the most important sockets, I'm not a mechanic if I were I would buy a quality tool set.,, I just lose too much to justify snap on… the price is right for my usage in for two for the trunks of my cars.

I just picked up this set for $30. It's got all the same deep sockets, plus 4 additional deep metric sockets , matching standard sized sockets, and adapters. You get more than double the stuff for about double the price. The only downgrade seems to be a ratchet with a few fewer teeth, but I don't see that as a big issue.

It's a great set for the price.
