I recently purchased a open box s9 45'mm off Best Buy online. However, upon setting up the watch was locked to its previous owner. Tread with caution here, possibly try getting it offline post inspection.

Also, the return process wasn't smooth either.

The chat rep suggested they can't get a return label as I had intended to trade in my s8 against it. I was suggested to take it to a nearby store.

Upon taking it to a store, they suggested this has been an open box purchase so it has to be returned online via return label.

I had to get in touch with a rep on chat who then suggested me to get in touch via phone or email.
And finally upon phone support I was able to print the return UPS label and ship the product back. I'm yet to receive my refund though!

Interesting. Earlier this year I purchased an open box Ultra 2 from Best Buy. I ended up returning it after feeling it wasn't worth the $700 price tag. Return was super easy, took it to the store, returned no questions asked, refund issued, and I was on my way. The rep never did check to make sure the watch was reset and no longer tied to my Apple ID though. Maybe the trade in is what added complexity?

Ordered an Open Box Excellent watch. Did not come with a charger. Live Chat suggested I take it to a nearby store and will either receive a free charger or a free exchange. The nearest store did not help me with either option and I was forced to return it. It took a while to return because their scanner had an issue with reading the barcode which was covered by "INSPECTED BY BEST BUY" tape.

Based on what parameters do they decide on Excellent, Good, and Fair condition? I am curious.

I'm looking for an Ultra 2. What would you say is a fair price for it?

Maybe not the thread to ask this, but here it goes.

I recently got the apple watch as a gift. I looked for the blood oxygen monitor and it looked like it was there, but was not working. Thought maybe they all versions have it, but got disabled. Anyway, I just came back from a trip to Europe and all the sudden the blood monitor icon showed up and now its working.

Might using it over there 'unlocked' it, or did I just not got it working properly at the beggining?

From my understanding, Watch 9 models with a model # ending in LL/A are the blood oxygen models that are now discontinued and the LW/A models are the newer ones without it. However I think the "new" ones still have the hardware, it is just disabled in the US. If you check Apple's website the blood oxygen app still works in a lot of countries, just not here, and I imagine they didn't want to bother making two physical version of the watch so just disable it here thorough software. And if you have the blood oxygen app it should continue working, they don't retroactively remove it from old watches.

So my best guess would be that you went to a country that has an agreement to use the blood oxygen app, which allowed your watch to use the hardware that was already there. And now that you have it, maybe they won't take it back.

Yeah, that's what I think happened. Anyway, still working btw. I also think it will stay on. Thanks, that was super helpful!

I don't know if I could justify the price at all, even closer to the $500 mark. Currently have a Series 4. The Ultra is just so thick. The larger display is nice, and the battery life was amazing, but found myself liking the slimmer form factor of the non-Ultra models. Didn't see much value in the action button. And the stand reminders seemed less accurate than my series 4.

I'll probably hold out for the new model to be released this year, and go with the Series 10/X/whatever it will be called.

appreciate the feedback. I'll see if I can find a used one in the $400's rather than shell out the current price tag for a new one.
