Handle covering is made of foamy material. Doesn't last and comes off very easy.

I just got it last week and compared to the one I bought 8 yrs ago, a totally different item in terms of quality. Its got lifetime warranty, not sure what it would mean when I need to use it. Highly recommended to lube it before use.

Have had a pair for a a couple of years. The spring tensioner isn't rust proof. Very easy to take apart if you wanted to sharpen the blade that way. I use a sharpening stone or the sharpening tool from Fiskars. If you do take it apart, I recommend applying thread seal on the hardware when reassembling the tool. For $10 it is good. Way better than the $20 Corona tool I bought at Home Depot that was a total rust magnet.

This has been my primary pruner since 2002. No complaints. I also own a Fiskars Reel Stay Sharp mower that's been awesome. Haven't sharpened the blades since I got it in 2015 and it cuts pretty much like when it was new. I do wipe down the blades with WD-40 after every use (including the stationary blade).

Anything you have to lube before using go slow.

Yep just got the 3-pack from the other deal and basically done buying this brand. I have the extendable shears from years ago and it's a night and day difference in quality. Cheap crap like most other things these days. The multi pack included a tool like this, but not exactly this one. Great just add to the confusion and have many models of the same thing (all sucking of course).

This hasn't been.

An older, better-made version of this has been.
