I think you should put not 49.99 price in the title but 69.99 as a new line of 20 bucks is required.

Saw it added to their website yesterday but it was not in stock.
Called to order through customer service but order didn't go through.

Tried again on the website and was able to order one just now.

Better than buying the Costco WI-FI only version for double the price!

Don't ask me how I know this...

You're getting that reply because your browser couldn't connect to the authentication server Metro uses.

Could be an adblocker, host file, etc. Or even your ISP could be doing it.

The simple answer is to turn off any and all adblockers, script blockers etc.

When everything is working correctly you'll see three challenge questions to authenticate your identity.

And before you say it, yes they do this even if you've already logged in with your Metro account to purchase the tablet. It seems they do the three challenge questions on every order regardless of whether you're already a customer or not.

To sum it up, you need to find what's blocking the connection to that authentication server. I found that turning off all adblocking etc, and opening an incognito tab on my phone, which had WIFI off, and connecting through my mobile network fixed this problem several times.

Good luck

Too bad I don't know anybody with Metro. I'd pay them the $75 to get it for me.

Put down an order. It is pretty smooth after login to account. But I don't know if I really need it. I have an iPad 9th gen now.
I would buy it from you for $85 if you wish.

Spend $40 for a new phone line and get it yourself!

I got two Samsung A7 Lite tablets from Metro in the last 45 days...

They both needed a working SIM to get past the initial setup screens.

Meaning you can't use it until a working SIM is in the device. You can't connect to WIFI either.

With that being said, I read somewhere that you can bypass this with a certain sequence of screen taps. I'm not sure but I think I read this in the previous Metro A7 Lite thread.

I do have another suggestion, once your tablet has shipped you can go to the Metro order status link* [metrobyt-mobile.com] and log in with your order number etc. and you should see an activate button. This may even trigger the 180-day waiting period for unlocking.

I do have one more suspended account. I wonder if I can extend that account 72 hours, use the sim from that account to go thorough activation process?

I had metro about a year and a half ago, currently On mint . I recall on metro once I go over my data plan my phone did not slow down data , is metro still like that ? My current plan is up in may and I was actually considering going back with metro . This could be a determining factor.

Just not very slick this route. It takes the post from gotta have it to eh. Do I really need this tablet for 120ish. I'll chew on it. I appreciate post none the less OP.

I suppose one could port their number over to keep service going so it's not simply a pointless added expense but part of their normal phone plan then port back out later.

That would defeat the purpose now wouldn't it?

I wonder what you could do with an unused phone??
eBay or FB marketplace will snag them up at cost price.

I'm sure times have changed but I could never buy another Galaxy Tab. I bought a Galaxy Tab 10.1 way back in the day and that thing was so ridiculously underpowered. Wasn't cheap either! Fool me once...
I've had a galaxy view as my bath tablet since day one. Thing still does everything except youtube app won't update.

So if you dont already have Metro service, looks like you have to sign up for 1 month of BYOD phone service for
$30, then add the tablet+ service for $70, making the whole thing $100

correct me if I'm wrong here?
