I own 2 pairs of these and really like them. Also, I have a slickdeals level problem buying earbuds... seriously, who needs 20+ pairs... anyways, here's a few of my personal pro's and con's.

Pro's:

The passive sound is amazing when wearing them outside the house. I can still clearly hear everything that's going on around me while walking the dogs or grabbing groceries. This was the goal with this model when I initially purchased them. I liked it so much I bought a backup pair in white.

Inside, it's even better. I wear them a lot while laptop gaming on the couch when my partner and I are passively watching tv. I can still have a conversation and hear whatever is on the tv while also having game audio.

Battery life is pretty damn good. They haven't died on me during use yet, and I've had some pretty long stretches wearing them (4-6 hours) continually.

Cons:

The fit. Man, these are one of the most polarizing styles I've ever seen. My partner and my son both can't get a good fit no matter what wing tips we put on them. I have pretty standard ass ear holes so it's not an issue, but if you have tiny ports, they may not be stay in.

No wireless charging... seriously, it's the 2020's everything should have wireless charging at this point.

Sound quality. I mainly use them for things I'm not too interested in a audiophile experience with. If this were to be my daily driver I'd be dissapointed about the sound profile. Thankfully they're not. If I need that, I move to the XM3's or XM4's or Bud's Pro's or Bud's Pro 2's.... this may be a problem. Dammit SlickDeals.

Anyways, feel free to AMA.

Cheers,
Vulgar

Tried these and really wanted to like but weren't good fit.

The Samsung live buds (beans) are the only best game in town still for the open style. Have a few pairs and everyone at home loves those. Get them if you haven't.

These are my go to earbuds. Most comfortable I've ever used. Doesn't create any pressure in the ear canal and can hear everything around me. They are good for phone calls as well. Getting a bit older so just got the bose ultra open and while they sound better not as comfortable for longer sessions. Sometimes it sits comfortably but other times hurts a bit.

Maybe you can help. I'm looking for an inexpensive set of earbuds for my 14yr old to wear to school. He loses everything so the set of AirPods I gave him (my old ones) I don't allow to go to school with him. I would like them to be $40 or less but be durable enough to use for at least a couple of months.

I have the Samsung Beans and I hate them. A little bit of sweat and they fall out of my ears. The audio is crap too in my opinion. My ancient Jabra Elite Sport from 6 years ago are/were so much better in every way possible aside from connectivity.

I had a pair and I really liked using them when I was out and about. It took me a while to get the right fit with them but once I did they stayed in place pretty well. I dropped the right earbud one day and it caused it to start rattling from then on while listening to music. I won't buy another set because of that.

I know that feeling! Went through similar things when our now 19 year old was that age. I'd recommend against these for a teenager. They're not the strongest of build quality and are pretty tiny. Usually woot [woot.com] has some pretty decent options in that price range that have a more traditional shape. Good luck!

Really dig the beans as well! I used them for sleep listening for a long time. I feel like these have a bit more pass thorugh volume though.

Yeah, they seem pretty fragile. I had hoped we'd see a gen 2 that was a little more solid. If I'd paid retail for either pair, would of likely returned them. But for under $50~ it feels like I'm getting my monies worth even if they do break in year 3.

There really is a specific earhole that these fit well in. I'm the only one in the house that they work for.

I was surprised they had the "Make Offer" option available. They accepted my offer for $30. I should have made a lower offer!

After killing the batteries in a pair of Airpods in just under 2 years, I decided to not spend $150 on my next pair (or any pair going forward, if they're only going to last 2 years.) I've since been buying refurbished Samsung earbuds and they've been great for my needs. It seemed a little gross at first to be buying used earbuds, but the ones I've received have been perfectly clean and included brand new silicone tips.
