I own 2 pairs of these and really like them. Also, I have a slickdeals level problem buying earbuds... seriously, who needs 20+ pairs... anyways, here's a few of my personal pro's and con's.

Pro's:

The passive sound is amazing when wearing them outside the house. I can still clearly hear everything that's going on around me while walking the dogs or grabbing groceries. This was the goal with this model when I initially purchased them. I liked it so much I bought a backup pair in white.

Inside, it's even better. I wear them a lot while laptop gaming on the couch when my partner and I are passively watching tv. I can still have a conversation and hear whatever is on the tv while also having game audio.

Battery life is pretty damn good. They haven't died on me during use yet, and I've had some pretty long stretches wearing them (4-6 hours) continually.

Cons:

The fit. Man, these are one of the most polarizing styles I've ever seen. My partner and my son both can't get a good fit no matter what wing tips we put on them. I have pretty standard ass ear holes so it's not an issue, but if you have tiny ports, they may not be stay in.

No wireless charging... seriously, it's the 2020's everything should have wireless charging at this point.

Sound quality. I mainly use them for things I'm not too interested in a audiophile experience with. If this were to be my daily driver I'd be dissapointed about the sound profile. Thankfully they're not. If I need that, I move to the XM3's or XM4's or Bud's Pro's or Bud's Pro 2's.... this may be a problem. Dammit SlickDeals.

Anyways, feel free to AMA.

Cheers,
Vulgar

Tried these and really wanted to like but weren't good fit.

The Samsung live buds (beans) are the only best game in town still for the open style. Have a few pairs and everyone at home loves those. Get them if you haven't.

These are my go to earbuds. Most comfortable I've ever used. Doesn't create any pressure in the ear canal and can hear everything around me. They are good for phone calls as well. Getting a bit older so just got the bose ultra open and while they sound better not as comfortable for longer sessions. Sometimes it sits comfortably but other times hurts a bit.

Yeah, they seem pretty fragile. I had hoped we'd see a gen 2 that was a little more solid. If I'd paid retail for either pair, would of likely returned them. But for under $50~ it feels like I'm getting my monies worth even if they do break in year 3.
Is usage of "would of" or "could of", the cool one to use or people don't know what to use like wear/were their/there etc ? I see more and more of it now and I wonder!

I have small ear holes, no ear bud has ever been comfortable and these were the first ones I liked. I see many people have the opposite experience so keep that in mind if you are the type where normal buds don't fit. The open air design is perfect because I hate any pressure against my ear drums, I don't even wear cans. The mic is so-so but the music quality is decent.

I saw "would of" as a lazy portmanteau of would have, knowing that it should rightfully be "would've". I think it's more in an effort to type as I speak as opposed to proper (unless it's a business setting). I feel it adds character to whatever I'm trying to infer.
edit: that reads way douchier than I intended

In this instance the correct phrasing is "If I'd paid retail for either pair, I would have likely returned them" or something similar... not exactly an english major here, I'm sure there's a someone in this thread that can correct my correction. Anyways, could of may work, but nothing was stopping me from doing it, I just chose not too. The price or other circumstances didn't prevent me from returning them, I "could of", instead I made a budgetary decision that I was comfortable with but, I would've returned them if I decided it was too much money for the quality.

That was long winded and totally unnecessary, hope it makes sense. lol

I was surprised they had the "Make Offer" option available. They accepted my offer for $30. I should have made a lower offer!
How long did it take for them to respond to the offer? Just curious. I made the same offer. We'll see how it goes.

edit: 30 minutes, offer accepted.

Maybe you can help. I'm looking for an inexpensive set of earbuds for my 14yr old to wear to school. He loses everything so the set of AirPods I gave him (my old ones) I don't allow to go to school with him. I would like them to be $40 or less but be durable enough to use for at least a couple of months.
Why don't you buy bluetooth (or even just completely wired) earbuds that are connected with a wire if you're worried about him losing it. Example is Jaybirds X2, something I had back in 2017 or so.

Absolutely amazing to wear for cycling if they fit well. Music with zero loss of hearing what's going on around you. Not as great for audio or podcasts if cycling at a decent speed, with no passive isolation, the wind makes it tough to hear. The tapping on the head or jaw to control different functions works surprisingly well. Mic better than expected too. Kind of nichey, but if you know what you are getting and what to expect I think they are great.

Any opinion on the mic quality? Main reason I want to try them is I find "open" buds keep my ears from... sweating for lack of a better term. My buds live (the beans!) that i own like 4 of help a lot with this. Figured these would be even better on that comfort end, but curious about the voice quality because my beans suck on phone calls.

I don't have a specific reccomendation as I haven't bought non true wireless in awhile, but for kids who are prone to losing I highly suggest something like this. The chord with them both attached style means if you take them out, instead of throwing them in a pocket or some other "where did they go" kind of place, you just let them hang on your neck until you reinsert them.

Becareful of secondipity, I've ordered 4 things from them and all of them had to be returned.
Coffee maker came very very dirty and not even cleaned and stained, it felt like I was overpaying for garage sale item.

Nespresso frother - it came with missing items and also dirty when it said New open box.

Stanley Cup said brand new - came dented.

Sony headphones XM over $220, these failed within 3 months with the right ear constantly making a loud ringing sound and popping noises, they wouldn't accept refund.

I gave them two chances.

So when they get old the battery life is horrible even with low use. Don't expect much for $30. And cry if you bought them full price new

I actually had this exact conversation with someone and the person admitted that it was because he did not know the correct usage. He wrote what he "heard". I felt bad but this guy was in his early twenties. It scared me a little bit that he managed to finish schooling without ever realizing this.

But, the beauty of language is that as long as it successfully communicates what the person is trying to say, it is okay even if a few grammatical mistakes are made!
