I don't care if you all wanna discuss the deal or the cars but it always turns into paaaages and paaaages of bickering back and forth and nobody ,except for the few involved, enjoy that or wanna wade through that. Buy a long range Model Y out the door for ~$42K (I assume 7% tax). Hold for 8 years (length of warranty) and sell for ~$12K. Average monthly depreciation is $312/month. Add some buffer for maintenance and total cost of ownership is about $340/
Is leasing cheaper than $340/month?
I ran the numbers on Teslas site and leasing the same car is $524/month plus maintenance. Ok, we don't account for the time cost of money, but we also don't account for the fact that lease costs will increase every 36 months.
