- $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
- $225,000 for heads of households
- $150,000 for all other filers
- The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

There's a pattern with Tesla threads here. I don't care if you all wanna discuss the deal or the cars but it always turns into paaaages and paaaages of bickering back and forth and nobody ,except for the few involved, enjoy that or wanna wade through that. Buy a long range Model Y out the door for ~$42K (I assume 7% tax). Hold for 8 years (length of warranty) and sell for ~$12K. Average monthly depreciation is $312/month. Add some buffer for maintenance and total cost of ownership is about $340/
Is leasing cheaper than $340/month?
I ran the numbers on Teslas site and leasing the same car is $524/month plus maintenance. Ok, we don't account for the time cost of money, but we also don't account for the fact that lease costs will increase every 36 months.
