Ok look...

There's a pattern with Tesla threads here. I don't care if you all wanna discuss the deal or the cars but it always turns into paaaages and paaaages of bickering back and forth and nobody ,except for the few involved, enjoy that or wanna wade through that. So cut that stuff out, please and thank you.

This is not as good as the March deal. They are all $1000 more expensive. The other discounts were available most of q1.

FYI just because it says "New" doesn't mean it qualifies for the 7500 tax credit. Demo models are new but do not qualify for 7500. If the specific inventory item qualifies it will directly say it on the site.

great thorough reply!
You're making a good case for someone to stick to a used gas car. But to make apples to apples comparison, you should consider a brand new Toyota. When you do that, much of the financial reasoning falls apart.

What are the $2500 texas incentives you spoke about?
"The Texas Emissions Reduction Program (TERP) offers a $2500 Rebate for the purchase or lease of an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle. There are 2,000 rebates available and they are offered on a first-come, first-served basis"

No reason to buy now. Up until now tesla was selling all the cars they made but now as they start building inventory due to less available EV buyers the prices will tank

Prices are inflated as you can see from BYD's pricing, so these folks are catching up to the "real" prices for EVs

Tesla threads on SD are nutty - prices just went up $1k and it gets 5 thumbs up where previous threads in last few weeks received 5 thumbs down even though they were cheaper!
Because other than rebates real prices seems same

I would have assumed that Texas would have put a surcharge on a EV instead a rebate.

Lease terms indicate: "Includes $7,500 EV lease incentive distributed across lease term.".

Horrible company. Ask yourself why they are discounting cars when toyota isn't
Best selling car in the world- Model Y 2023, they have $9000 markup, offering discount like anyone else to clear inventory, TESLA will make up same way as iPhone does, subscriptions, add ons etc. Think long term, data collected from each car is being used for AI training for FSD no other company in the planet has that much data and compute …

Lease goes to the leasing company- which usually passes that along within the terms of the lease (as Tesla is doing here- but not all car companies do)

...what? Toyota dealers run discounts constantly.

They have entire section of the website at Toyota.com dedicated to finding such deals, incentives, and special offers here:

https://www.toyota.com/deals-incentives/

In fact doing so and drilling down to a local area I find... the same $7500 EV leasing offer as Tesla will give you.... but on the much inferior Toyota bZ4x that they only sold about as many all of 2023 as Tesla sold every 2 days.
