- $300,000 for married couples filing jointly
- $225,000 for heads of households
- $150,000 for all other filers
- The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due.

There's a pattern with Tesla threads here. I don't care if you all wanna discuss the deal or the cars but it always turns into paaaages and paaaages of bickering back and forth and nobody ,except for the few involved, enjoy that or wanna wade through that. Here's one data point. I live in the bay area in CA. Family has 3 EVs, one of which is a model Y. $2500 for 6 months with Progressive.
I did try Tesla insurance for 6 months, which they gave me the honey moon rate of around $100 per month. I left that when they wanted 2.5x that for renewal, after logging and analyzing your driving the first 6 months.
CO2 emissions have been around a long time. I'm living longer already than my Grandfather.
Tire wear is also worse just due to weight. And tell the EV buyers who buy with 0-60 in 3 seconds to take it slow.
Tesla drivers crash more often than any other car driver.
Don't think I'm against EVs as I want one, will buy a used M3 when I can get one for $20k cash with less than 50k miles, but they are disposable cars at this point until battery replacement is equal ti ICE.
It degrades every single day even if not used. think about it. We need better battery tech than that. My ICE engine does NOT degrade each day unless it's used.
