Isnt it the same price for months now for this bundle?
it says wifi though
A 12900k build like this would easily last you 6+ years. It makes little sense to wait if you are doing video editing and streaming now. Sure in 7 months there will be better deals, but that's always how the industry works. It doesnt make sense to try and save $50 or get a bit more performance if it means a slower workload for months.

I bought this for my son for Christmas. Overall, it's a solid combo. Just keep in that the 12900k requires a lot of cooling at max TDP and you'll need a 360mm water cooler (and big enough case to house one) if you're going to push it hard.

How does this compare to the 7700x combo?
Les low load/idle power consumption for intel, opposite with high loads is all I can tell you.

If I understand correctly. The board doesn't come with Wi-Fi. You must buy the adapter separately.

I had the same question and went 7700x because it's better on single-threaded/gaming usage, also a newer architecture and also AM4 is going to have an upgrade path

16 cores i9 for $400 is a fair price. Wait it comes with mother board and 32GB RAM? dayum! If I had $150 more for budget I would have gotten this- I only had budget for i5 bundle 16GB RAM for $250. Runs like butter.

Any way to swap this out for an ITX board?

I bought the bundle and tried to return just the board but they wouldn't let me. Was all or nothing. But they let me exchange the board and memory for different parts and I just paid the difference.

Would this require a heatsink or water cooler if bought for a non-gaming work desktop? (gazillion tabs internet browsing + Office apps multitasking + Zoom)

Is the 14700 bundle worth looking at for $150 more?
(Same question for 13700 at $100 more)

I already have a 12900 system in a driving simulator and it runs HOT! I'm building a system for another room for games and 3-d modeling and I'm tempted to spend the extra money for a 14700 bundle.

No, I bought this bundle in Dec. It has wifi built it but it also comes with what I assume is some kind of antenna extender. I didn't bother with it because I hardwire but I can still pull up wifi.

In genera: all 1*900 bundles or i9 runs hotter than any of the previous model i3/i5.
13700k vs 14700k they both are great! and the dif is just a gain of 3-5% in speed. If you want the best for your money you can go for the 13700k but honestly for now, if you have the 12900, stay there, get a better AIO Cooler and wait for the upcoming generation. save some money because it will change CPU socket and Motherboard as well.

I have the 14700 and if $$$ is no concern then get the 14700. It runs hotter than the 12900 though, from my understanding. You're going to need a good 360 aio for the 14700. I've read reviewers say their 14700 overheated with a 240 aio

I have an i7-7700, 8x2gb RAM and a gigabyte board i bought 7 years ago to build my first pc. I do very light gaming, but I have now started streaming and making videos through Davinci Resolve. Im guessing this would be very helpful with the amount of cores, but im wondering if it's worth waiting for something better during a holiday, assuming the likelyhood of any better deals on a 13/14th gen. I am looking to refresh my build or even just make a new pc, so I'm not in a rush, but my current setup is strained when video editing, so id like to jump on a deal that makes sense.
