Needless to say was not a great experience for her...she's pretty noise sensitive and that was...a lot.
I always bring beginners to an outdoor range. I try to make it at a slow time, on a nice warm day and then I start them on 22 rifle at the "22 only area", regardless of what they want to ultimately shoot.

For $40, I would spend a little more to get the name brand Howard Leights . I am always wary of new products where safety is concerned.
Once you have the that info, I would call 3M (or another well known mfgr), and have them match the protection to the frequency and sound power levels.
Unscientifically, high pitches are very directional and easily bounced by hard objects, so if it's possible, put a physical barrier up, and get some high NRR over the ear 3Ms with a hard shell (Like 30 or over NRR). Also note that noise cancelling devices might help in this situation if the noise is constant and generally the same frequency. I would only use them as a supplement to the over the ear muffs.

ALSO I have these and the aliexpress $16 pair. They are nearly identical minus BT. PLUS the ali's come with a really nice hard case.
Insurance companies and lawyers set policies that you a business owner have to pay for (or not). I doubt the gun deals brings in enough to pay for the increased risk. I certainly could be wrong, but I see business (usually) make more decisions based on money than rights.
If I am correct, you probably need to take this up with their choice of insurance company, or other such risk mitigation decisions (legal?). If I am wrong, my apologies for misrepresenting my opinion due to limited knowledge.

There's no reason why they can't ask or promote such reasonable questions, and acting like they should be shunned for asking questions is ridiculous.
The Saviors have way better audio and it sounds much more natural, unlike the Walkers mono audio. Plus, they come with gel pads so you're not spending another $20 for gel or more for Noise Fighters. Btw, if you already have Noise Fighters for the Walker Razor slims they do fit the Saviors if you need that extra notch for your glasses. Just replace the Savior pads, no need to pull them off the plastic.
