I get that. Though there's always the option people might tack this on to an order of other things they've been meaning to order on Amazon.
One of the few decent, morally, chocolate brands out there the chocolate is good quality too.
It's solid chocolate. Significantly better than Hershey's premium bars and others I've tried in the store.

sounds like a brand with good moral consciousness of their industry but getting a single candy bar delivered to my door just so i can get it for $2.18 instead of the $3-4 i might pay if i bought it in person somewhere does not seem like a morally conscious thing to do. the extra packaging and the carbon footprint to have one candy bar delivered to me feels so wasteful, so i can't in good conscience take advantage of this deal.

edit: the thumbs down on any post like this are so funny. imagine being a conscious consumer! what a novelty!

edit 2: blah blah blah stop quoting me about what an idiot i am, later in the replies here i start to realize i don't really understand S&S nor use it effectively myself but the people who do use it effectively are able to get a single candy bar like this added to their S&S order with their other items without adding extra packaging so it's not as wasteful as I thought]

that is fair. prices change so frequently on amazon that i never use it in that manner - that is to say, if i wait until i gather a cart of items, the prices on those items will probably go up by the time a "cherry on top" type of item like this comes up that whatever i save on this candy bar is more than made up for by the price change of the other items, but perhaps others have better strategies about how to use amazon and they can tack this on.

But this is subscribe and save. So it will ship with other items grouped together, likely. So it is one of the better ways to try them out.

Are you saying that you never use Subscribe & Save? I'm not being snarky as I'm no Amazon expert and I only really know and understand how what I do works. My S&S items ship once a month and every month I always have the 5 items required to secure the 15% discount. In addition, all my S&S items are new orders which are always a deal so I'm saving money on each item plus the 5-15% on the entire order.

Ordering this candy bar S&S will result in it being shipped with several or all of my other monthly items and thus as I understand it, there is no additional "cost" in packaging or to the environment.

So to directly answer your saying the prices go up on the other things while waiting on an item like this, if you order S&S items the prices are locked in at the time you order them.

I think others have rightly pointed out why your initial statement is too simplistic, but more generally your point is valid. And it just goes to show how powerful marketing is. I think some companies generally try to do the "good" thing but there are always other costs, and sometimes we ignore them or can't even see them.

Anyway, this is my favorite chocolate (aside from a brand available only in Greece), so for those who aren't sure whether it's worth trying--add it to your S&S orders and enjoy.
