I don't own one (I have a Kitchen-Aid that I love) but I saw plenty of reviews mentioning that it doesn't fully incorporate ingredients when mixing because it can't really reach the sides and bottom of the bowl (meaning you have to do a lot of manual scraping of the sides and bottom while mixing, which seems to defeat the purpose of a stand mixer).

I got a KitchenAid 5.5 qt mixer from an SD post in 2006 for $125 shipped(https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BK9BXQ/)... started getting into baking a few years ago again and don't know where the hell it is, but we used it for years and it was great! But... the days of $125 KitchenAid stand mixers are probably long gone.

I picked up a Braun MultiMix hand mixer (supposedly one of the best at a reasonable price) until I could spend the time looking up good stand mixers, and then waiting for a deal. The hand mixer is excellent, and in most cases I actually prefer using it because I get more control and imho better at getting faster full incorporation.

I found this review, and wow, WTF, the clearance issue is terrible. She is making a big batch of cookies, and again pizza dough... and the clearance issues on this one are terrible. I think the clearance issues would cause far worse issues for small batches too Frown. I guess what do you want for $108... but I think I would rather spend $50 on a hand mixer that works better and is less hassle... and I have a bread maker for dough so don't have to worry about that.

If you plan on getting adapters and using it to make pasta, ground meats, etc., then this looks like it would do the trick for an excellent price... but for small batch cookies, etc., not so much.

As mixers go, this just ok at best. A stand mixer is one of those things that you really don't want to cheap out on. If you have to have one, and this is your price range, look for a second hand KitchenAid.
If you're willing and able to wait, and save due a new one, then go for one of America's Test Kitchen's current recommendations.

light duty only, worth a try if you live near a walmart.

usually handmixer drill or kitchenaid on sale is a better deal

Not sure where all the hate is coming from especially when none of you actually own it... A lot of comments given based on other ppls reviews. The product gets a rating of 4.6/5 on thousands of reviews, it's a decent product. I actually own one and for the average homeowner it is great. My wife and I have had no issues in the 8 years we've owned ours.

Yup, That's what we did I got a 7-quart professional lift stand mixer and attachments by KitchenAid for $125. I literally just had to tighten all the screws in it otherwise it was perfect condition.

I don't have this cuisnart but I have the bigger model. I think 6.5qt. It is the one with a screen on the dial. It's been great. See no difference between this and Kitchenaid. Like that this one isn't as tall.

Thanks, but keep in mind the company is different now. Quisinart has gone the way of craftsmen and Toshiba. They sell their name to others to sell their product. So while yours may have been a classic USA original, this is definitely made in China and not comparable anymore. It's going to take consumers around 20 years before old owners replace their bullet proof product that finally broke for the knock off they make today. Then reviews change and the manufacturers move on to the next shell of a company they can.

Yes...country living. Green space, trees, lakes and a 20-50 minute drive to a Wally
