Lite or OLED for a 5 year old boy?

He loves playing games on iPad.
I would say used original and replace the battery. It's cheaper to buy off brand joycons than it would be to fix anything if he's hard on it, and those are always the first to go

I have an oled. Can we play/transfer the game to the other console and play on both? or is it tied to the system? Thanks.
You can do this with pretty much every other game but Animal Crossing is kind of unique in how it's treated by Nintendo. I think you can download the game to a new console but you can't use the same save file on both; you'd have to start a completely new save file.

If I already have a switch and then get this. Should I register the second switch on the same account or separate account so they can play two player games together. If I register it on the same account will they both have access to previously purchased digital games?

I have several Nintendo switches and while I love the system there is no way I would recommend getting the lite version. These controllers are junk and will go bad. They all do it. Regular console not so bad. Nintendo knows they messed it up and you can send in the joycons and they will replace for free. Maybe they will fix your lite too but then you're out of a console for weeks maybe months...

I wouldn't be scared to give a 5 yr old the regular console. I did that and got a case for it and he's 9 now still has it.

Great deal. My Switch Lite served me well for years before I upgraded to the OLED when TotK came out. Never had an issue. The Lite is especially good for kids too.

You can add up to 8 accounts on a single console. You should definitely add the account with which you've already purchased games, so that you can download them to the new device. Playing two player games with one digital copy is a bit tricky and it has to do with which device is registered as the primary one for a given account.

These should be $100 at this point. Hardware was dated when the system originally came out seven years ago and it's ancient now.

I got these for my daughters for Christmas (one got the teal, the other got the pink); I don't know what I did differently, or how/if I can fix it. When I got them, I booted them up, and logged into the consoles so I could update them (I already bought a OLED system for under the TV). I updated them both, then added their profiles to the console. On one or them, she can play the game (AC) directly, using her profile (she's 13). the other one (the 8 year old), (I forgot the exact error), but it says she doesn't have access to the game, even though it shows up on her "dashboard"; I have to log in, then she can play it, under my profile.

Anyone know how to fix this, or if it even CAN be fixed?

I think it's a security measure for this game Animal Crossing only. I could be wrong but I remember when the game launched there was a controversial choice to make AC single account only.
I never played the game so I can't verify, but I do know animal crossing is unique when it comes to single user. I apologize if I'm incorrect.

If you read into the history of how Nintendo came to be, one of the original founders was known for using cheap and outdated toys in innovative ways. It might be dated hardware but is still one of the best selling consoles of all time.

Did you read the book titled Game Over? A huge % of Nintendo wealth in the beginning was from Howard Lincoln suing everyone in the industry for infringement.

I think the guy you are referring to is Yamauchi.

The game is linked to the account or the device?

Animal Crossing itself is around $50 - technically that makes the device alone a $120. Sounds like a deal to me.

Fair warning: Walmart may ship this with OnTrac, one of the worst delivery services. They have already "attempted" to deliver it (spoiler alert, no one showed up!). I'm doubting whether I'm actually going to receive this thing and whether it will have been a whole waste of time.
