I bought a house that had all "nice" Samsung appliances, within three years: the dishwasher was leaking out the bottom, warping the wood underneath and had to be replaced. The refrigerator no longer creates ice and the freezer drawer doesn't work correctly, the microwave buttons are frustrating and often non-responsive to touch, the wifi doesn't work on the washer/dryer set. Needless to say, I would not recommend Samsung appliances.

Friends don't let friends buy Samsung appliances. Mainly so we don't hear complaints of them failing shortly after the warranty then waiting forever on parts.

Nice features for the price, but they don't last.

If you only had 500 dollars, (not everyone can afford a Bosch) I recommend a whirlpool or any of the their sister brands with a steel tub.

I don't want to pay half the price of the appliance for installation. For us, installation would be $232.

This seems to be the going rate for install. So, get one that cost $1k, then your install price will only be 1/4th the dishwasher Wink

Oh sorry to hear that ! I have one from 2006 frigidaire dishwasher. It is still running fine with occasional clogging due to dirt/oil. After seeing your message I will change my mind and wont replace it until it completely die.

I've done my research this week after my unit gave out. Safest brands are Bosch and Miele. The Bosch 500 is on sale at Lowe's and Home Depot right now, $300 off. Price won't show online, in-store only. Lowe's is also showing GE Cafe units at $479 which would be a pretty good deal, but out of stock in my area.

Going through a Geek Squad Protection Plan exchange on a 3 year old Bosch 800 series with CrystalDry right now. Tub was warped, it leaked, and the board and pump were replaced.

Bosch is not a top tier brand, it's a better brand. I've repaired several of them and often times it's better to replace them.

The auto release door is a nice feature, it opens the door at the end of the cycle venting the steam. I have the same or a similar model from Samsung, the door stopped releasing 2 years after installation.

Man I hate the timeline we are in right now 2024. Everything is more expensive and worse quality. It seems every appliance, everybody complains about every brand having problems in a 1 to 3 years timeframe causing me detrimental analysis paralysis. Think I will eventually just go with the cheapest appliances so as to not be too disappointed when it breaks

I have had good luck with Maytag. I think they are made by Whirlpool. I have been lucky with Google and YouTube. I have been able to fix all of my appliances without calling for service.
