Actually, it is perfectly safe to view totality with unfiltered binoculars. The only danger is that the view will be so amazing that as totality ends you'll still be looking when the sun reappears...
Not a bad deal for 4, for grandkids birthdays and also to just keep in glove box when not bring or using my better model binoculars. For $10 worth it, even try to get a toy one for the kids is about that price. They arrived yesterday and seem pretty descent for the price. Oh, and price went up on Amazon. $25 now.
