When I bought mine, I bought open box from Best Buy when they had theirs on sale and I got the pink ones because they were MUCH cheaper than other colors. Whoever had returned them had attached them to their Apple ID and not removed it. BB traded me for brand new pair for same price and even let me pick color. Pretty sweet deal.

Unfortunately, the other part of the rumor is that the only difference would be the USB-C port, and that it won't get any of the improvements that Apple made to their other AirPods the past few years. That sounds insane to me, but who knows...
