These or the RP600M from Adorama for $279? Usage is wall mounting them in my gym for music. I will likely add a sub.

Currently using the Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-502S II for my rear surrounds. Would these work better? Not sure if bipolar speakers are good for rears and thought these might be a good replacement

Dang. Awesome deal. I use these for desktop / near-field use and they should work excellently for small to medium rooms. Compact size, accurate frequency response (spinorama [spinorama.org]). Weaknesses are relatively shallow LFX down to 58Hz only and lower-than-average sensitivity at 84.5 dB.

Pair with the Speedwoofer 10e [rslspeakers.com] ($300 shipped) to negate the shallow LFX and make sure you have enough amp power [crownaudio.com] for your listening distance.

Horizontal "evenness" is not bad, and vertical "evenness" is acceptable, so this would not be the best for critical listening + many different listening positions. But if you are working out in a home gym you are not quietly listening to musical details. It's rear-ported so if you are wall-mounting you want at least 1-2" of rear clearance to the wall.

RP-600M has a very poor response dip around 2kHz [spinorama.org] and then a overshoot after 4 kHz. I would not recommend, especially if you are pairing with a subwoofer (you should)

With EQ and a Klipsch R-121SW, I've achieved what I feel is very good frequency response.

I think it comes down to whether you're gonna add a subwoofer (500M II) or not (600M). But its a gym! You're working out! BASS!!

Then, IMHO, 500M II. I also think the smooth + linear low-frequency dropoff of the 500M II makes it a lot easier to blend/match with a subwoofer - just set crossover at 70-80 Hz. But the 600M has an awkward two-step dropoff, first at 125Hz and then more at 50Hz, so any sub crossover setting will be a compromise (e.g. set at 100Hz, there will be too much in the 50-100Hz range, set at 50hz, there will be too little)

KEF Q150s would feel like flat (a more accurate reproduction) sounding vs these which are a lot more 'lively'. Crutchfield has a tool which let's you compare (they recorded a bunch of speakers in ideal settings and you can listen to their short clips).

KEF ones can go lower, negating the need for a sub for small listening spaces.
Q150s often go down to 350 retail and can be had as used for about 280 from best buy.

The Klipsch ones - I haven't seen them go below 300 mark in recent times. Accessories 4 less has the 600M used for about 300 in addition to the Adorama deal.

However Among the siblings, the rp-500 II sounds better than 600m II (as per Erin of Erin's audio corner) and kef Q150s sound better than q350s (as per a few on reddit, couple of Amazon reviews).

Slightly off topic - how are the 10es? They are new but I was looking forward to getting one.
