Why all these big adapters have screw hole in the center? All my wall outlets have 2 screws on top and bottom.

I suspect you have one screw in the middle that the cover plate screws on with. It replaces that screw. If not please share a picture.

Joules aren't really the measure of surge protection. Clamping Voltage is the effective level of surge protection and if it's not 400 volts or less (330 is best), then it's not a good choice to buy.

Not sure how to upload photo to SD but mine looks identical to this image below. Even after I remove the face plate the center piece is still on the wall, no center hole. https://flatriverelectricllc.com/...ell-mi.jpg

It's designed for older styled outlets.
