On sale through April 9, which usually means the sale ends early on the 9th, so buy on Monday the 8th if you want one.

$320 shipped for a neck-through, active 5-string bass is a slick deal.
These were $800 when they came out, and are still $600 at Sweetwater/GC/MF.
They're listed as "Used- Mint" but come new in box.

The 4-string is available in black and "Rocket Red" (actually traffic cone orange) for the same price.

Looks nice, it's got a Rickenbacker vibe going on.
Jackenbackers are 10/10 for playability, this is a great bass.
The only change using an active instrument is you have to unplug the 1/4" audio cable when you're done playing. The jack is the off switch, and it only uses battery while it's plugged in.

Even if you forget once or twice, the battery lasts for days and days of continuous use. I've never had a battery run out in the middle of practicing or playing out. Just keep a spare 9V in your gig bag and change it once every year or two. You can do the tongue test on the battery in your bass to see if it's getting low before a gig if you're really worried.

I like active EQ on basses because standing right in front of and above the amp doesn't tell you what you sound like in the room. Active EQ lets you adjust your sound from out in front, where you can hear it. You'll often find that what sounds great standing over your amp is a woofy mess in the room.

Nice! Did you get a case or gig bag for it? Is it a 'standard' length bass that will fit any bass gig bag or case?

No case or gig bag came with it, plan on keeping it at the house. Never had a bass before but it does seem standard size. I'm sure you can message Franklin about it. They were quick to respond to the questions I had.

So I just got mine (the black one) today. Looking at the back of the guitar, I'm seeing some very light finish scratches (almost like the kinds of scratches you'd get on a pickguard from running the pick against it) and also some odd pin-prick sized dots on it. I just tried wiping it down with a cloth and polish but I still see the light scratches/swirls and pin pricks.

Is anyone else noticing this? I'm also getting some minor fret buzz and I feel like there might be some fret sprout too.

This doesn't show as a "Mint" guitar IMO - it seems more like a B-stock or possibly demo item.

Mine suffered shipping damage - two dents with chipped paint on the bottom of the body but I love the look and feel of it!

Are you planning to message Franklin about it? I'm deliberating what to do - I'll probably take pics and message them, telling them I received either B-stock unit and/or production demo (because it almost seems like it has been played on before) along with the fret sprout, etc..

BTW: I just re-read the description and they do mention the possibility of light scratches on the guitar...

"Up for sale is a Jackson X Series CBXNT DX V bass guitar in Black. Great looking and playing bass, with stock upgraded active 3 band EQ with a P/J pick up combination. These are full size 34" scales length with a compound Laurel fingerboard radius of 12-16" . These basses have Poplar bodies, Bacher IV Hardtail bridge, and offer all the punch, rumble and grunt to your sound! These are going to be in excellent condition but may have some light surface scratches. No case or gig bag."

Of course, the pin-prick dots/indents appear to fall outside of the description. I still think the one I received is a B-stock unit. Now, if they had mentioned that in the description and sold it as such, I'd be OK with it but obviously these were sold as "Mint" condition items with possible "light surface scratches"

Yes I messaged them. Opted for a partial refund since the damage is on the backside and I like the bass. They didn't have any more to do an exchange.
