The core is just the Elite 2 but doesn't come with the paddles or alternate sticks/Dpads. Those can now be purchased separately if you want them. The controller still supports all those accessories, just doesn't come with them.

If you have target circle you can add the 10% off 1 item as well making it go under $70 then any target circle points you can stack on which would minus another $25 based on my stockpile.

The bumpers when out on mine too in around 4 months. I fixed it by taking off the front cover and then physically pushing up on the nub on circuit board that the bumper pushes into. The nub is like an internal button. The nub will feel like it doesn't move, but it fixed the problem. I pushed mine with a plastic spudger. Push hard, but not hard enough to damage anything.

These have some of the highest amounts of complains from failures after months of use so I would advice against it just for that alone

Target still has the normal red controller for 35 on target red circle

You've gotta assume that they'll also be announcing an Elite 3 alongside it or soon afterwards. They aren't going to be able to continue to sell a "premium" controller that is missing a ton of features from the new base controller.

I had issue with the rubber grips starting to warp and peel off so I bought a new shell from eBay and it was easy to transplant the internals to the new shell. The new shell was also easier to open and close than the orginal so it made easier getting it open and doing some quick maintenance on the bumpers (contact cleaner, compressed air). Wish companies made access easier for some simple fixes that help the lifespan of their product. I have over 5000+ hours on the same Elite 2 and it's been holding up well. I now have a back up in case it does finally have real issues that aren't fixable.

You don't need to wait, there is no requirement that the product be in stock to return said product. Their return rate on these was so high that I highly doubt they will ever restock them.
