Bought one almost 2 years ago. Just recently really started using it. Really like it. Used it on a couple composite decks we've built. Pretty true straight out of the box. Blade has held up surprisingly well so far

Are these nitrile gloves good for gardening and dealing with thorny bushes?

I haven't tried, but not likely. They keep oil, dirt, and chemicals off your skin, but they aren't going to protect you from sharps. Personally I'd get some reusable leather or gardening gloves for thorny bushes.

Anyone have any feedback on that Hercules 12" Dual-Bevel Sliding Compound Miter for $300?

Been thinking about that. Have an older 10" Hitachi. This would be an upgrade for sure just trying to get over not going with a Dewalt/Makita/etc.

I got it and its awesome, kinda over kill for my use but it easily cuts 4x4 and 1x6

Nope. They tear in a sec. I use em when pouring chemicals for about a min, that's all they'll last.

I've had one for 3 years (paid $70) and it does a great job. Use it 2-3 times a year with no issues/problems.

Price tracker shows this to be the lowest ever: https://hfpricetracker.com/tools/63254

A definite buy for $65!
Good to hear. I just need it for 1-2 small jobs a year, like cleaning deck or Jon boat. For 65, as long as it last for a few years and does a decent job, seems like a deal.

I like it! I have a Dewalt dws780 at the shop and the hercules for my mobile saw. It reminds me of the dewalt. Works just as good for my use.

Trying to buy a larger inverter generator from them but they're in store only and never in stock…

Amazing saw. It's a dewalt dw780 clone. Square out of the box cuts like butter. I took a chance on all the positive reviews on YouTube. Couldn't be happier. Get the extended warranty and if anything goes wrong you take it back for a brand new one no questions asked instead of waiting on a repair. It goes lower than $300 occasionally but this is still a good price.
I don't pay for insider track so I had to wait. I checked on their site and using brickseek and they apparently had stock. I went there right away on the 12th early in the AM and there were no saws.

Had to order online. Was an extra $21 in shipping but that's fine. Would have just paid that from the get go vs wasting my time physically trying @ the store.

Can lay my old Hitachi to rest. Excited to have a sliding miter.

What's wrong with Hitachi? I thought you were regretting the size until I read the end. I have the 12" Hitachi miter on the Hercules folding miter stand & it's been a solid saw. I've had the saw for a decade or more and not a single issue. I've been through a few stands, I managed to find the Hercules stand on sale for $125 so I grabbed it. That thing will store vertically without any instability. Just in case you get the saw, if you need a stand I'd consider grabbing the Hercules stand as well.

I do think you need a new miter though. 4x4's on a 10" sucks.

10" and non-sliding.

Nothing wrong with it outside of those 2 things.

I misread it then, you mean trying to get over not going with other brands than harbor freight brand, you weren't talking about the Hitachi 😉

I haven't used that particular saw, but as long as it's not an old Harbor Freight "Chicago" brand or something it'll be ok. The Hercules line in general is solid & I'd trust it. You definitely need a bigger saw if you do fencing, flooring (depending on width you buy) or a magnitude of other things needing more than a 10"

And if you like Hitachi, it's on sale too here:

https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/943002

But if you're going with the Hercules stand, I bet the Hercules saw will look better, so there's that? I don't think you can go wrong either way. I'm sure you know Metabo is Hitachi?
