In other words, you're getting the future price right now instead of waiting, hoping it goes on sale months from now.
However, the reviews are pretty bad. So it's not all about the specs.

Pros:
- Lots of features.
- Touchscreen if you need it.
- 16gb ram
- Newish processor (old processor made with new tech)
- USB-C Charging
- 512gb storage
- Comes with a protective sleeve.
Cons:
- Graphics could have been way better...
- I bought this "refurbished from Acer" on ebay, for $250 like 9 months ago. It came in mint condition.

It has 16gb, touch, backlit keyboard, and a 1 tb ssd.
Is it worth the upgrade over this deal?
I can't figure out if the Aspire 5 has upgradeable memory.

I don't know the build quality (I haven't bought Dell machines for over 10 years - have stuck to Lenovo. Through workAny thoughts, folks (on this one): https://www.costco.com/dell-inspi...21339.h
As I mentioned previously, this is for my Mom (she is over 80). Thus, trying to find something which is reasonable and good enough for her.
TIA
Also, how's her eyesight and how much does she require portability? I have some elderly relatives that use larger desktop monitors and still zoom the screen to 200%.
Says it isntouch screen on the liat8ng. Does anyone know for sure

It says it right in the title on the eBay page but then down below in the specs listing it claims no touchscreen. Confusing, but it's the exact same model of this Costco one and if I had to put money on it, it does come with a touchscreen.
I agree.thanks for looking into it

I don't think she cares about the portability. But readability *IS* important. That's why initially I was thinking of the 17" one.
Thanks.
BTW, this does not have backlit keyboard.

I can't figure out if you can add memory either. It does have a better processor, but you will get a shorter runtime on the battery. Even if you can add memory you will be limited to 16 plus 4 or 20 based on old information on the previous aspire 5. Acer has also limited the use of that full processor.
Reviews at Best buy say no memory upgrade from the 8 GB.
