Corelle dishware had unsafe levels of lead up until ~2005. Upgrade if you have old dishes.

The OG Corelle is way better than the Ikea 'clones'. Our Corelle looks brand new, but a number of the ikea ones have chips in them.
Yep my mom has been using her set for 20+ years and none of the designs or embroidery on it has peeled or anything. Even seen her putting plates and bowls in oven for light warming

Nice, and until they explode into 10 million pieces on your tile floor and cover the entire first floor of your house.

White is not a concern...only a few patterns, with blue, eg. Old Town Blue'.

Here's the corporate spiel from their website:

"The food surface contact testing was designed to identify whether any small amount of lead that may have existed in pre-2000 manufactured Corelle product leaches from the product in amounts above today's acceptable lead-safety regulations. The small amount of lead used in decorations pre-2000 was encapsulated in glass before and after the decoration was applied to product and fired to above 750C. The Corelle manufacturing process has always encapsulated decoration in glass, using extremely high processing temperatures to ensure the glass decorations are sealed, which prevents food contact and intentionally decreases the extent of any lead migration to food."

The testing confirms that the vintage products tested comply with current FDA lead-safety regulations – so feel free to use them for everyday dinnerware.

They are not as good as bone china, losing their glossiness faster. I had a plate became matt after a half year use and dishwashing.

Barkeeps (aka BKF) will return the shine.

I put one into my cabinet years ago and it was slightly sticking out from lack of room. I didn't notice and slammed my cabinet really hard, I've never seen such a mess.

A classic and good price, but UGLY!

I have never heard of someone so repulsed by white dishware.
That's like calling a blank canvas, a white wall, or vanilla ice cream "UGLY!".
Unexciting, sure. Boring, uh-huh. Basic, yep. White goes with everything though. More versatile than some patterns. Lightweight, not as fragile as most dinnerware, and presentable for any meal.
I have some Corelle with patterns, but nothing too busy. The ones with the red lines and the ones with black lines around the rim remind me of a classic Diner theme.

There will be sales on patterns now and then too. Sign up for emails on the mfg website. I get notifications now and then from them. Wink

The plates are Dinner and Appetizer size. I need Lunch plates.

"Piece 1: Dinner Plate: 10.25 Inches
Piece 2: Appetizer Plate: 6.25 Inches "

The description says "Pasta" bowls but they're "Condiments" size bowls.
There are going to be a lot of disappointed families when they get these. The condiment bowl and appetizer plate will almost never be used. Those are $1 each at a thrift shop due to the tiny size, and there is a reason you can find them there lol. The 2 inch bowls and dinner plates are good. They go for $3 each at a thrift shop, though the bowls should probably be $2 each, but the pricers think they are the regular size bowl like the 'regular' 10+ inch dinner plates. I was kicking around getting this deal but passed because the useless pieces are going to just sit with my others I regret thrifting. 2 inch cereal bowls and 8 inch lunch plates are way more versatile, useful, and worthy of your cabinet space.

There is another Corelle deal right now for four 3 inch dinner bowls for $17. It comes out to $4 a bowl so solid deal. Pair any of this with a targeted spend xx get xx circle reward later and use a gift card you bought for 10% off and you are looking slick. For anyone looking to meet deal requirements, the pyrex store set is a good deal now and I go with their store brand HSA stuff as filler (cough meds, contact solution, etc).

If you don't have a discounted target gift card, they are doing 10% off them on the 15th I think. Cash back sites and credit card rewards work with it.

Costco has some plates like this, less price per piece, not sure of sizes.
