Thanks OP! Been looking to get the Bosch MRC23EVSK (2.3HP plunge router system). I actually jumped over to CPO's eBay store and got the 2-year warranty (Amazon appears to only be 1-year) for the same price.

The price is average. I've been waiting for it to drop.

I wish I started in the bosch ecosystem. I'm too invested in Ryobi and Milwaukee but I really like Bosch power tools
For battery, I am a mix of Bosch and Milwaukee. I was only Bosch for the longest time, but they don't have the variety of tools (at least in the US) that you can get with Milwaukee (or DeWalt, etc).

Corded tools don't matter. Buy what you need to get the job done.

protip: don't even waste your time with these rifle length reciprocating saws. they have all kinds of leverage over your upper body and arms and will jerk you all over the place and tire you out. for the times you need that length, go buy a HF special corded, which is quite rare to even need one, I almost always use the pistol size version of this type tool, you can just get in close to what's being cut, stick it at about hip level and lean on it with your upper body, it'll stay where you're cutting pretty nicely and the effort you'll have to put in will be minimal.

also only buy battery powered on the tools you use a lot, like hobby enthusiast or professionals. there's a good case for a drill and impact wrench. but if you buy a lot of niche/obscure stuff, batteries, chargers are gonna fail at some point, parts support will be discontinued, and you're gonna be buying it again like a poor person

Or, get the one off, less used niche stuff in a battery format you already have. I'd rather have a Dewalt or Ryobi cordless air compressor to walk around with than a corded one. I already have the batteries. I have a few corded grinders but man, that cordless one that I have plenty of batteries for comes in handy many times. Same with cordless the grease gun, various portable lights. The list goes on.

Go for Whiteside or Amana bits. They last longer
Are Amana and Whiteside bits "affordable", though? Last I looked they were like $30 each, which is a fair price for the quality, but only really affordable if you know exactly which bits you need/use a lot.

Poster sounds like he needs to cut a few basic holes, likely in MDF, and might do a round over and then maybe never use them again, or just dabble with them elsewhere, in which case a basic starter set might be a more versatile option at about the same price: https://a.co/d/dViJjXj

I have one of those generic 20-30 pieces sets in a wooden box for $35 from Amazon. It works. For bits that I find I use more often and the cheap one of that bit exceeded its useful life, I buy individual brand name reasonable quality replacements.

My rich dad told me a lithium "electric generator" battery bank or a cheap gas generator will get you tapped into quality new (and especially used) electrical and pneumatic tools. Invest the savings into the B or I column

I still use my air framing nailer (I have a battery one too) and occasionally my air hammer but that is it, my air impacts are way obsolete. Battery tools have made great improvements in performance and quality in the last 10 years. Times are changing. Even "The Essential Craftsman" on youtube is using a battery circ saw. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWQM7ZuH1ps. Battery chainsaws have a real purpose even for the professional same as a battery propress tool, PEX fitting tools and so on.

Till you realize you don't need the charger to charge the batteries and how easy it is to rebuild them.

Just because you're electronically challenged doesn't make those who fix things shady. What an a$$hole.
