good price considering they are new and not refurbs. They used to sell these in two packs for about $29 each but it doesn't seem that amazon offers them in two packs right now. The only thing to remember is that you can get 10% off for these if you subscribe to ring services and purchase directly from ring...kind of stupid that you can't get the same deal when purchasing from woot (amazon owns woot and ring).

Item description says this requires a ring subscription to work. Is that a wrong info? I don't think this requires subscription.
I do have my Ring alarm system without subscription.

You should take a hard look at Home Assistant. I ran SmartThings from release until about 4 years ago when my hub died.
