Damn it why did you post this, I've been considering buying it for the last week but I'm still trying to get the two cash back credit cards. now whenever I want to buy it I'm sure it's going to be gone, even though I don't think it's that great of a deal.

Considering the ASUS Zephyrus M16, which was one of the best gaming laptops of 2024, has been around the same price a couple of times, and other i9/4070 laptops have been a bit cheaper (like the Dell G16 for $1299 from a few weeks ago), there's absolutely no reason to get this overpriced laptop. Not to mention the Acer Predator with 4080 was just $100 more twice and other 4080 laptops have also been within that range.
I have this exact laptop (i9, 4070, 32gb) and I love it. I added a 1tb Samsung 990 pro and TIG welded a little stand for it and mainly use it docked as a desktop replacement. The laptop is quite heavy and has easily the biggest+heaviest charging brick I have ever seen a laptop come with. The charging port is proprietary unfortunately. Because of its mass, it feels very sturdy and solid, not cheap and flimsy at all. I have had it for maybe 8 months or so.

Legion has been the go to laptop for years. Their build quality and performance are top notch.
Overpriced? The only thing overpriced are the Alienware products. Both the Asus and Legion are on the same level of performance and build quality.
The Dell and ACER are lower in price because their build quality and performance are less than the Legion. You're willing to spend $100 or more just because it has a 4080 with a slower processor and bad build quality?
I don't see where the same spec ASUS has been around this same price point. The Dell and ACER yes but not the ASUS

It was as low as $1399 several months ago: https://slickdeals.net/f/17062636-lenovo-legion-pro-5i-16-qhd-240hz-i9-13900hx-rtx-4070-32gb-ddr5-1tb-ssd-1399?src=SiteSe
And even after that it was lower than the mentioned price here for a few times (never as low as $1399) and was heavily thumbed down each time: https://slickdeals.net/f/17306998-lenovo-legion-pro-5i-laptop-16-2560x1600p-ips-i9-13900hx-16gb-ram-rtx-4070-1tb-ssd-1469-free-shipping?src=Si
