I used to be a HUGE Google Nest WiFi proponent. NO MORE! They screwed a huge customer base with the lastest firmware update and are not planning to fix the problem. They are done getting my money.

These just work. I've had three in service for about 4 months. No trouble at all.

This is a bit pricey though. BBY was clearing out open box sets of 3 for $150. I've been able to get them from ebay used-like new for around $70-80.

One thing I'll note that's weird is that the factory reset button is on the bottom under a thick rubber base. You have to feel around for a while to find the soft spot where the button it. And then hold it for 10-15 seconds while plugging it in. That's a minor pita. Also, avoid the used ones with no power adapter. The cheapest adapter I found for it was $15.

How would this compare to this Orbi 3pk at Costco on clearance for $300?

Same issue with an older version. Have had to restart weekly too get all the access points working. Tp link worked better for me. Costco will take these back though after 90 days so no risk if you want to try.

Strongly considered these when they were on sale for $339.99, but passed because the reviews were not very good and they only have 1GB ethernet ports and not many per node.

Lots of differences. Wifi 6 vs Wifi 6E. Many more ports on the Netgear. 4 pack vs 3pack, but stronger antenna on the 3 pack. Netgear armor is trash and I wouldn't use it free.

These don't get much love on the internet, probably because the previous gen were really rock solid and these were a big buggy when they came out, but honestly for the last 9 months, I've had no issues with them. I use a three pack in a student house, five people in a three story house, all wireless backhaul, they all run netflix on their laptops, making video calls, etc, and I don't get any complaints.

This does not have ability to broadcast 2.4Ghz band separately, hence a lot of iot devices cannot connect to these nodes.

You can disable WPA3 temporarily and they'll connect fine. If your power goes out, they won't be able to reconnect with WPA3 enabled so you'd have to repeat those steps. Yes, it's annoying and dumb but it's a solution that's been working for me
