$100 for the tool and $40 per battery is the going slick price. I have the tool but haven't gotten much use out of it. It's not that powerful, basically a large dremel.

Me brother tried talking me into getting one of these... Told me how handy it is. I've busted my brain for days trying to justify what I could use this for... Still cannot think of a valid reason... Maybe cutting stone for tile work? Which I don't do a lot. I've been thinking about it to the point I actually had a dream about seeing it on sale for something like $100 bucks 😂. I own close to 10k retail in tools.
Its useful, its just that i have other tools that do a better job. Maybe if it came with a dust extractor

Shipping is not free if your nearby stores do not have in stock. Do you have any coupon for free shipping?

I was thinking of getting the Dewalt cut off tool after watching a comparison video with the Milwaukee and other brands.

I had the Milwaukee M12 version but it was binding when you put pressure on the item you are cutting so I sold it.

Dewalt was the best rated 3" cutoff saw but if it's not that powerful I'll wait until a new generation is released from either company

I'm sure it has a few great use cases, I just haven't found em yet.

Was amazing when I was doing flooring and cutting through some metal cabinets. It's safer and easier to control than a grinder. I'm tempted.

if you work with pavers or any flat stone or small tile work its okay as long as you do repeat cuts and then deepen with each successive pass, trying it next it on 2 CM quartz counter tops but heard you need to get the diablo blade for that kind of work as well as get the dust adapter to use with a normal shop vac. Price is very good figuring in the batteries, Id buy this if I didn't have one already, much easier than using 4.5 in angle grinder as you can use this as a mini-circ saw. Haven't tried to cut metal with it but it will be cutting rebar up pretty soon, the fact that you can reverse the blade spin helps keep the sparks away.

Id stick with angle grinder w diamond blade if you are doing a lot of masonry work, this is more of a finesse tool

It also works wonders for cutting the catalytic converters off of other people's cars!

This one is one of the most powerful tools from Dewalt, small size here is misleading. TTC has a nice review.
As for uses, cutting metal tubing, tiles, all kinds of wire fences and like, smaller rebar incl fiberglass, metal roofing & corrugated sheets, shortening bolts, rods, pvc - I used it for for all of these purposes. Control and accuracy you get are top notch.
