Decent price. Costco is selling the same system without the graphics card for $700 (they claim it's a $300 discount [costco.com]).

Literally on the page is the ability to upgrade the PSU for $50 - to a very good PSU. And add liquid cooling (that they use on the K series) for another $50.

Dells have issues, but the PSU and cooling problems you guys are mentioning are literal options you can change direct from Dell before you order - I don't even think you clicked the link.

I have no idea what your specific computer can and cant accept
All i know is that dell requires specific graphic cards to work properly that made for dell xps desktops

The ram, you can use any ram brand same with ssd
Cool! That's what I thought. No worries. I somehow thought the video card in dells were somehow different than a normal video card you'd get anywhere else... no worries mate.

Appreciate all your time and help. Thank you!

The video cards in dells are different
They use less power to work with the limited PSU in dell desktops
They are not the same as retail units
Which can be corrected fairly quickly with a patched BIOS or Afterburner.

You make it sound like these are permanently inferior units, which is completely disingenuous.

The components on the card are no different than any other reference card. In fact, they might overclock just as well as the "OC" editions because there's no selective binning happening with these.

How hard is it to swap out the psu on one of these? Is it proprietary for the mobo?

If you're willing to buy a harness, you can use any power supply that will fit in the case (or just buy a different case).

The real question though, is why do you want to?

460W with an 80Plus Platinum is more than enough for this system configuration.

If you need a different configuration, don't buy this.

You might be able to but you cant put retail graphic cards into dell computers unless it has a 1000 watt psu
1000 watts specifically?

Where are you pulling this from?

This case won't accommodate a 4080.

So you're looking at buying a new power supply, a new case, and whatever harness is required to get an off the shelf power supply to work with this motherboard.

That leaves less than $150 to offset the cost of the 4080, unless you really skimp out on the case and PSU.

I really think you'd be better off just going for a deal that already includes a 4080 or assembling something piecemeal.

Ya i dont understand these configs. 1 stick of ram? 4800 mhz. And an ssd the size of a smart phones. In a 1000$ pc
The clock speed of the RAM isn't an issue as much as leaving performance on the table by not running dual channel.

512GB is understandable, but only because Dell offers tiered upgrades and they aren't gouging for it with this discount.

Price out the system by component (if you use PC Part Picker, don't include any of their weird BS gimmick selections) and you'll see it can't be had for less than this discount.

I love when people talk out of their ass in a thread for hours. Single slot dual fan 4080s exist.

Easy for new PC gamers to jump on deals like these with no experience in builds, important to remember that 60s series are considered low gaming rigs, on occasion medium performance on old games but on most new stuff you'll be tweaking a lot more on the low side, rather get in debt and at least jump to the 70 series, at least. I would probably get a 60 for a retro build or for a kid.
