Correct, but the new Snapdragon laptops will probably motivate manufacturers to drop their prices to compete.

I don't need a new laptop right now anyway, I can wait.

Does the HP have touchscreen? I can't seem to find anything that says it does so I'm assuming it doesn't?
Same question. Someone gave me an old xps. My first touch screen laptop. Not 2-in-1. Not really for drawing like a dedicated pad or ipad. But so convenient. I used to think it's a gimmick. How often do i touch my laptop screen. Once i tried the 13" xps i won't go back to non-touch. I want this laptop. It seems to have everything except for touch screen. When HP or lenovo make one in this price range i'll buy.

Wow, these specs are great for the price. Apple has half the RAM for double the price. THIS is the price/specs that laptops should be today. Tech like this should be getting cheaper/better and not worse/more expensive.

Surprised OLED is only 300 nits. Kind of dark for this display with high res. Bummer

No. Better off with a 4050 or 4060 Lenovo laptop for a similar price. Intel Arc is garbage for Adobe, etc.

The Front page mods edited my post but didn't change the title properly. Expand my original post and see.

Oh nice. that's much better and acceptable.

oh I realized what happened earlier. I was on my iphone and I saw "14" 2460x1600 48-120Hz 300-nits IPS, 100% sRGB" which is the alternate but I didn't see the alternate part and repied.

thank you

It's very good, especially if you use the iGPU for hardware acceleration. Its not the best you can get in a laptop but for the price, quality, OLED and performance its an extremely solid buy.

Anyone know about the build quality on these Pavilions? I've heard nothing but bad things about them in the past, but I can't get a clear idea if they've fixed things like the hinges or other build issues in the last year.

Yes, they are pretty good, similar level of performance compared to the AMD RDNA3 based integrated gpu.
Overall performance yes, it's kind of on par, except for gaming. 780m outperforms it handily. MSI Claw, for example, is a failure.

It's not about the memory being soldered, it's about having the right amount of soldered memory.
There are clear benefits to soldered memory (faster than SODIMM) but having the right amount to begin with is important. My Lenovo P16s came with 64GB of soldered memory and I nave no need for more.
