But you don't get that satisfying hiss from a battery powered one.

Do these serve a purpose anymore with current batteries lasting as long as they do. Bulky and heavy, and need a propane tank to run.

Honestly, at $21 and you can find the propane tank for $4 or $5,, for under $30 not a bad thing to have with you camping, if a fellow camper needs a light and they keep it for $30 no biggie.
Or when the SHTF, having a couple extra lights won't be a bad thing. Possible barter. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

I am in for 2 , thank you OP

great deal. id be in for 2 had i not bought one recently, so im only in for one. this will be my 3rd that i use at our off grid cabin. we have gone through a few different varieties and find the standard ones with the built in sparker to be the best, all around.

do yourself a favor and make sure they thread onto a bottle correctly. they occasionally have a bit of a threading issue and dont thread onto the bottle smoothly the first time and can get cross-threaded. if you are lime i am, and buy something well ahead of time before you need it, by the time you need it and go to use it, it will be too late to return. otherwise i love it. actually way quieter than the fancy coleman northstars that are super loud.

also do yourself a favor and use the Peerless 2C-HG Mantles vs the coleman generic ones... they are phenomenally brighter and will hold up better to bouncing around in your trunk on the way to the campground.

Do any of you have a recommendation for a lantern pole for a 20 lb canister? I have a few 20 lb tanks for emergencies and this will be a nice addition.

SHTF I might want a dual liquid fuel that will run off gasoline. Was running low at a music festival and topped off from some random RV owner. SHTF I'll have to trade for bullets instead of a beer.

I just got a rechargeable LED to replace my dual fuel lantern for everyday camp use. BUT I will never get rid of it and would trust it over the battery powered LED off grid or in an emergency any day of the week.
