I'd steer clear of any Grip Rite screws. They sheer with bearly any force. I had a big bucket of those 2inch screws from them that I loathed using. They also bend really easily (once) before snapping, so even something like screwing and hitting a knot was enough for the screw to bend and then snap when trying to back it out.

The grks I have on the other hand have no problem with the same type of use.

I've used tons of their exterior screws without much issues. If you're talking about interior black screws then maybe but sometimes people end up using them for wrong things, those are mainly for attaching Sheetrock to wooden studs NOT plywood to wood.
GRK have been better for sure but those usually cost more as well. I try to about Philips shaped heads for any application requiring higher torque because them can out more often vs star shaped heads.

Grip Rite was the strongest in terms of shear strength of all of the brands tested, including GRK.

I have gone through numerous 5lb boxes in my basement with no issues.

These are roofing nails, for felt and shingles Smilie Buy whichever is the cheapest.

I was Home Depot yesterday and the grip rite fasteners were clearanced to $1 . Both the 1 pound and 5 pound boxes . I bought some even though I mostly use collated nails for my guns. They had drywall and loose nails even some joist hangers nails I missed out on
